I chose this topic as a footprint for something to which talented individuals and aspiring business owners can relate and collaborate with aims to build a healthy netwok. Makasana is here with the notion to shift the story of the concept of "impossible". Most of us know that society holds the belief that if something appers to be impossible it probably is. M.K.U's mission is to change that mindset and replace it with the mindset of the winners we admire.

The history makers that fought for a brighter and better future. Now that the battle is won, the pursuit for a brighter furter continues. But in these modern times, we have a chance to evolve into something our great grandparents only dreamed of.

History repeats itself, but I believe that in these modern times we have an incredible chance to shift history as we know it. Back then my grandmother didn't have the opportunities that we have now. So if your aren't taking advantage of something our parents didn't have, then you're making a costly mistake.

All humans have diffrent reasons for doing some things in life, but if love is not involved don't do it. A wise friend told me that once and I live to rememeber those words to this day. He said it with tears in eyes and for that, I say thank you, for showing me that loving something in life is all you need.

The narative that has been sung for so many years, by our parents and grand -parents. I mean we are in the era of pioneers, the time to orchastrate a diffrent and brighter history.
In a nutshell, Makasana Urban Mag is here to create opportunities with the power of consistency and teamwork in our province's youth industry, uniquely and insightfully that the people can grow to appreciate.

This urban publication is designed to change the narrative in the youth society.

A history where opportunities for long-term fruitful rewards, exist until the end of time. I may sound too ambitious but what's a dream without it?
Let's take a look at the rise of internet users since 2020. According to datareportal.com, by January 2021, roughtly 38.19 million South africans are online, indicating a 4.5% increase over 2020. So it demonstrates that Mzansi is already in the online era.

Another opportunity our parents and grandparents didn't have back in their day, but we give thanks to them.
Investor Michael Batnick once said, "Some lessions have to be experienced before they can be understood". So don't be afraid of hardships because it contains jewel's that no other man can teach. Be humble, faithful, and always pray like Kdot, you've come a long way and yet have a long way to go.
Black Child believe. These are the words uttered by modern pioneers to switch the narrative of black South afrcan people never being supportive of each other. We've been at odds for a long time, and it's high time for that to end. It is time to change your perception of poverty because Kings and Queens aren't poor and neither are you.
If you have any doubts about the online world, reconsider since it is the best chosice you can make in this fourth industrial revolution. The internet has paved the way for a new economy to emerge at a low cost and with an incredible return on investment. Even our parents, our beloved social media critics are on Facebook, Youtube, the green app.
Just like everyone else you have a choice to make. Now that we're in a time where we don't have to run away from law enforcement or apartheid regime.
This magazine is the beginning of an incredible journey, both for me, my team, and my loyal subscribers. Welcome to the platform that strives to transform, inform and inspire the next business owner, musician, artist or photographer.
"Some lessions have to be experienced before they can be understood".

born Kamohelo Maso on 8, March 1999 in Seisoville Kroonstad, is a qualified professional producer and recording artist. He was raised in a God-fearing family and has always been surounded by music, not only because his family are music lovers who find peace in good symphonies, but also because he's always had a fascination for sound.

Because of his elder brother and cousins, Insomniak grew up listening to hip-hop and rap artists such as Jay-z, Kanye West, Drake and Lil Wayne, to name a few. It's clear that his sound creativity is influenced by those around him.
"I first started making beats back in 2015 when a good friend of mine (Kxxde) introduced me to FL studio. He showed me the basics of how it works and soon as I got home, I installed the program and taught myself how to make beats, but I learned a lot from Kade, other beat makers, and Youtube as well", said Insomniak.
Insomniak,
"I've always been a creative person and I grew up in a family whereby music is very essential and healing for us", he said. Insomniak was introduced to FL studio in 2015 by a friend

Onkabetse Kade Malekele, who also taught him the fundamentals of the production software. Insomniak fell in love with the software rigtht away and installed it on his computer as soon as he got home.

He compares his beatmaking time from staying up all night learning and constructing beats to finishing a beat in about 5 minutes. "Compared to years back I've gained lot of experience in music production and being creative. It really depends on what I'm producing. The quickest time I've taken to make a beat is +- 5 minutes and the longest is 6 hours or sometimes days", said Insomniak.
"I try not to think a lot, I litrally just open my laptop and play whatever feels right to me", he explains. He's never stopped developing his craft and perfecting his engineering when it comes to mastering, since the day he started making beats.
created hundreds of beats, each with a unique sound, feeling, and construction. He's collaborated with other local producers like Jay OT, Dopeboi O'Ganga, Skalo from the south, Samuka, Vincebeats and 2K. Insomniak's prefered genres are hip-hop and trap, with a touch of neo-soul and other hard-hitting genres.

Insomniak has created over 500 beats since he began. I may be exaggerating, but the point I'm trying to make is that he has

He was so determined to master FL stuido that he went above and beyond, putting in the hours to learn to be a composer. "When I started to get the hang of it I was up all night till the morning, making beats and finding my way around the program", he said.
Insomniak grew up listening to rap artists such as Black Hippy, Kid Cudi, Ab-soul and Chance the Rapper, to name a few. Years later he evolved into a newly modern trap sound similar to Travis Scott, Migos, Gunna and others, and his creativity knows no bonds.
Since Insomniak became a professional artist, he's worked with a number of recording artists including Everything Goofy, John Trilla, X Clan, Jay OT, Fuago Sintana, Southside Moscow, MU54, Villa De Lamo and Chaos too name a few.
When it comes to Insomniak's beat making process, he never plans what type of beat he's going to make, instead, he'll sit in front of his laptop screen, open FL studio, and experiment with the sounds of the various channels and plugins. He sometimes takes a diffrent approuch by playing some samples to get an idea of what type of beat to make.
Since moving to Pretoria, Insomniak has developed a morning routine in which he wakes up, exercises, and then hops into the studio. He can spend hours in the studio creating, mastering his beats and challenging himself by creating something completely diffrent from what he's used to.
Insomniak was the Dj for Fuago Sintana at the 2018 Free State beatch party. He also got a Dj booking at the first annual Double Cup event in 2019 which was held at Afro Dezea Lounge. On April 2022, he made debut as a recording artist at Miguel Lounge, alongside Evrything Goofy, John Trilla and Larac Smoke.

Insomniak, like any other business professional who values his work, prefers to work with people who are driven to get things done and who enjoy what they do. "I prefer working with people whom are determined to work and love making music, if I like their sound, we can work", he said.
Adapting to something new can be terrifying because it's your first time, and if you're an overthinker your confidence is at an all-time low. Even though Insomniak was behind the mic for the first time, he was overcome with emotion emphasising how it took him time to teach himself how to use his voice properly.
Insomiak followed up with two debut hit singles titled 'Gang gang' featuring local acts Everything Goofy, John Trilla and Lacac Smoke, and Litty featuring Everything Goofy. These two singles send diffrent message, but they both emphasise the impotance of spending time with close friends while remaing youthful. The lastest single Insomniak gave us titled 'Pull up', where he's talking about taking a trip to see a girl, particularly his girlfriend.
M.K.U
"I was really nervous at first, and it took me a while to get used to being behind the mic. I didn't really like the sound of my voice so I taught myself how to use it properly", said Insomniak. Insomniak overcame his fear of recording and began to master the skill of songwriting by mumbling flows that fit with the beat he produced. Daily practice has helped him improve his penmanship, though he is still struggling to break his habit of mumbling flows.

'Came out the mud' is the title of the first song Insomniak recorded but never released because he was still uncertain with the sound of his voice. But as time passed, he grew more confident in his sound and in January 2022, he officially released his first two singles, Vibe and High.
These two singles have a turn-up vibe, not because it was the beginning of the year and people were still in the december mood, but because of the song's construction from the beat to the lyrics.
"I was really nervous the first time, and it took me a while to get used to being behind the mic. I didn't really like the sound of my voice so I taught myself how to use it properly".
Insomniak sings about having good vibes with his closest friends, sipping Hennesy, and making memories on one song titled Vibe. On the other single High, he describes being high on narcotics like "dirty Sprite" and cannabis, and driving to the wealthy parts of the North in a Rolls Royce.

We'll have to wait and see what he has in store for his fans, but based on the track list he shared with MKU, this project will be a sound engineered movie.

M.K.U Mag
Luthando is a photographer, artist, and the founder of Ignited Apparel, which was founded on May 7, 2018. The name Ignited was inspired by a song Luthando recorded with a friend, and despite his involvment in music, he never lost sight of his larger goal of establishing his own brand. He stuck to his dream with discipline and focus, and it has become something we are all proud to call Kroonstad's very own.
which formally means "cause to catch fire". Brand owner Luthando Mkhize appears to be fueling the fire. Born and raised in the motherland, Cape Town but made his move to 056 late 2007 where it all began.
Ignited,
"At the time I was looking to start a brand but I needed a word that represented positivity and at the same time remained cool enough to buy", Luthando explained. He managed to capture people's attention with just two t-shirts in his invintory, during his first year of operation, without using his name or giving the people of Krd any indication that he was the top'shaela behind Ignited.
The first step in establishing a business is to provide it with a face or identity that a customer can recognize and remember. Luthando's first mission was to design a logo that represented Africa while not distorting the meaning of the word Ignited. So he spent some time excavating and diving into the depths of his thoughts in quest of that one design that screamed Africa, without being overly african. Until he met Miss Mongile Radebe, a young lady from Welkom Free State and the brilliant graphic designer behind Ignited Apparel's official logo.
"The design we made for Ignited, if you look closely, says a lot about Africa from
businesspassion"Theforwasborn first. I've always wanted to be a businessman from a young age".
15
They were able to agree on a design that communicated the intended message. Miss Radebe came up with a design that blew Luthando's mind, after constant back-to-back green app conversations in which they shared their visions and ideas on how to convey the set message.

16
His fashion sense has always been influenced by township fashion. Luthando grew up in the hip-hop scene and was exposed to fashion at a young age. He emphazised the importance of maintaining a good reputation in the township through how you dress, which also played a role in his vision.
the three ricks that represents the letter E and the man in the middle with a sheild and a spear that represents the letter I", He explained.
Luthando has been surrounded by inspiration since he was a child. The desire to be a founder, a boss, or someone with decision-making authority. Many of us, I believe, faced the challenge of having the courage to start a new business. Because, as you know, we are the "born free" generation. We grew up in homes where some parents called the shots when it came to what we want to do in life. Despite the potental parental obstacles, Luthando clung to his vision until he felt secure enough to start.
"Growing up in Hip-hop you were introduced to fashion at a young age and looking good has always been synonymous in the hood. Living in Cape town also contributed to my passion for fashion, because CPT is a very stylish city and I grew a lot of my interests in fashion from the city and it's people", he said.

Luthando immediately revamped his previous logo into something he is proud to stand behind when he found the look he wanted for the Ignited Apparel logo. Luthando's intention with the brand logo, in retrospect, is to translate the meaning of Ignited without using too many words. So far, they're doing fantastic things. Luthando chose the name "Ignited" because it spoke to him spiritualy and because he believes it is something that people can relate to because fire represents inner strength.

"The passion for business was born first. I've always wanted to be a businessman from a young age. So when I grew confident enough to practice business, I looked at things I like that I can sell for money and clothing has always been something I liked growing up", said Luthando.
Luthando and Mongile are so dedicated to convey Africa through the Ignited logo, that they created an alternate logo with the African map replacing the letter I. The design has yet to be used on Ignited Apparel t-shirts, but Luthando's overall goal is to tell a story through Ignited brand designs, which is a very unique way to give your "baby" meaning.

Despite his fears of starting a new business in a small city, Luthando's love of streetwear never faded. It goes to show that he understands where he's going, so he came up with a unique way to get started. "My angle was to start something and hide who was behind it for as long as possible,
Luthando was previously only a part of Kroonstad's music industry, which put him in emotinal difficulty at the time. Because of the limelight he had as a artist and the people he was linked with, he highlights the fact that he was afraid of failing or not receiving support from his followers.
M.K.U Mag
"Of course, there were many fears. What if it flops being in a small town? where almost everyone knows you and you don't want to be known as the guy with a wack brand. My biggest fear was having something flop in my name, or having people not support it because of who I am", said Luthando.

"The design we made for Ignited, if you look closely, says a lot about Africa from the three ricks that represents the letter E and the man in the middle with a sheild and a spear that represents the letter I".
Like any other new business owner, there may be some roadblocks that cause some goals to be delayed, no matter how big or small. During the first year of founding Ignited Apparel, Luthando experienced several problems and worries related to the branding and garment industry.
18
Another challenge Luthando faced was getting Ignited Apparel merchandise in front of customers. He picked up some customer interaction skills by marketing and selling RunFs merch, which gave him the skill to engage with customers.

M.K.U Mag
"Having experience from helping my best friend start his brand, gave me an upper hand. My best friend David Radebe owns a brand called RunFs which is also founded in Free State, a small town called Welkom. We'd sell cups and caps at events to market his merch, which grew my interest in the art of marketing. It gave me a better understanding of how I would align my product", said Luthando.

so people would judge it purely on what it was and not who was behind it", Luthando explained.
19
Luthando started wearing his t-shirts to local events and also compelled some influential friends to wear them to the events they attended, which gave him more confidence to begin. He mentions a friend Vuyani, who wore his shirt to a street carnival in Braamfontain, Johannesburg.
He claims that his friend was approached by a few foregin nationals interested in purchasing some Ignited merch.

Nowadays, social media is an excellent platform for marketing your product. Media uesers have grown and it continues to grow at an exponential rate, and if you are a brand owner like Mr Mkhize, Facebook should be your best friend. Many business owners and corporatioins use social media to sell their products, but it is more than just putting your product on social media.
"A friend of mine, Vuyani rocked an Ignited shirt at a street festival in Braam JHB and he said he had a lot of people from Asia and Europe coming to him and asking him where he got it from", said Luthando.
"The biggest challenge is funding because we aren't exposed to many opportunities for funding in this industry. But we try to make it work by producing great products and finding smart inexpencive methods to market", he said.
Luthando managed to used the channels that were available to him even though he had no budget. Because of the lack of funding for corporate advertising, Luthando works hard to find creative and cost-effective ways to spread the Ignited Apparel brand.

Social media, like any other business strategy requiers a plan.

Luthando is one brand owner who employs experienced and trusted photographers, models, and graphic designers. Despite Ignited's financial inability to hire qualified professionals, Luthando and his team are meeting corporate standards.
Starting a social media page is critical in this fourth industrial era if you want to gain new customers or keep your current ones. Luthando created social pages and a whatsapp business account to engage with his clients and keep track of his orders. Ignited Apparel and Factory Club, which you can follow to stay up to date on all things new and exclusive.
But none of this would be possible without a team of one or two people. Every business leader has some trustworthy talent on their team, orientating and carrying out the plan.

Ignited Apperal can match the corporate level look, to fit a profile that is curated to attract the big fish of the industry thanks to the collaborations of talented photographers Katleho Hlatsi, Lunga Mokoena (owner of Stunna Ranks visuals), and Lebo "Ace" Mofutsana (founder of Via Phase media). With strong team ethics, Ignited and it's collaborators can identify suitable locations and models.

Coverboy and Luthando have formed such a strong bond that Coverboy was able to introduce another talened photographer with whom Ignited can collaborate. After years of collaborating with Certified Coverboy, Luthando lunched a new venture called The Factory Club.
Since the beginning of Factory Club, many other designs have emerged, causing customers to rush to place orders. A year after it's official introduction, Ignited Apparel attracted the attention of an event organiser from the Vaal triangle.
One of Luthando's goals is to build a creatvie team of young graphic designers. Certified Coverboy is one of Ignited's graphic designers, so he appears to be well on his way.
22
"The vision is to have a creative team that work on design and marketing, just that, you know, in a perfect world I would have a skilled team of young creatives but at the moment it's Certified Coverboy and myself", said Luthando.
M.K.U Mag
"Coverboy and I spoke and he told me about his aspirations of working for a brand and creating something in the fashion space and we made it happen. That's how I came up with Factory Club, to create a brand where our ideas can live and be tested. With his help on the design, the mission was just to create cool clothing by using what we have available", said Luthando.
One organizer who was eager to collaborate with Ignited Apparel was the late Sechaba "Sash" Lethae, owner of Phanda Ent and oranizer of the Vaal Freshers event. So much so that he approached Luthando intending to sell Ignited merchindise at his social gatherings.
Coverboy is known as a creative who strives to leave a mark, so one-day he opens up to Luthando about his thoughts on working for a brand and creating something iconic in the fashion space. The Factory Club, according to Luthando, is a brand in which ideas can live and be tested.
"I came up with Factory Club, to create a brand where our ideas can live and be tested. With his help on the design, the mission was just to create cool clothing by using what we have available"
Certified Coverboy is a local graphic designer who specializes in music artwork for musicians in the township.
Mr Lethea brought some ideas to Luthando at the time, intending to grow each other's brands together. Nothing stuck until Sash proposed collaborating with Ignited and the Vaal freshers which unfortunately, could not be fulfilled.
"Sash Lethea (may his soul rest in peace) is the man behind Phanda Ent. He approached me in 2019 as an event organizer and promoter. He wanted to have my brand (Ignited) at his local social events to set up a stall, but we could never really make it happen", Luthando explained.

"We stayed in touch throughout the years and he grew a liking for how I maintained consistency. He presented a few ideas he wanted me to be a part of, but nothing stuck until he brought the Vaal Freasher's idea to me. That's when we talked about how to collabobrate in creating merch that we can eventually push in between, as he was thinking of making it a yearly event", said Luthando. Luthando and Sash had a good business relationship, and he believes that after Mr Lethea's death, he will never have another opportunity to penetrate Vaal's market.
"With the untimely passing of Sechaba "Sash" Lethea of Phanda Ent, who was in charge of making me a part of Vaal, I'm not sure if any plan will continue at the moment, but we had planned to make it regular thing. Sash was a person that believed in creating , sharing ideas and opportunities. I think our relationship was forged on those beliefs as we shared a lot in common in that regard", said Luthando.

Listening to music and watching professional photographers provides him with focus and sharpens to his creative edge. "Every shot I've ever imagined comes from a specific song," he noted.
For me, photography is a complex and one-of-a-kind form of art. Capturing a picture of a scene, as Da Vinci did with the Last Supper. Some people believe that photography is more than just getting the right settings or capturing the coolest shot. Finding the right moment to point the camera in a direction that conveys the photographer's message is everything.
Mphoyana was able to overcome challenges and channel himself to be a professinal at what he loves, despite having no knowledge of the fundamentals of a camera. Even after losing his first camera in high school, it didn't stop him from his artistic pursuit.

Mphonyana Mosikili is one photographer who knows when to point and shoot to capture the perfect "moment". A 26-yearold Vanderbijlpark-basd creative, content creator, and videographer, who fall in love with photography at a young age as a result of the films and television shows he watched.
With the help of his family and close friends, Mphonyana improved his photography skills to the point where he began taking pictures at family gatherings, which later became a norm.

When it comes to genres, Mphoyana doesn't limit himself to just one. His imagination allows him to dip into various genres in search of his real style.

I pickd up my Casio scientific calculator and typed out 'Smiles' but substituted the letter 'S' with a 5, and I thoght, oh, 5 MILES sounds great".
