How To Be Savvy With Your Job Search In 2020

How To Be Savvy With Your Job Search In 2020 ‘Being smart with your job search is a fundamental factor to finding your perfect new start says Emma Summers, MD of Juice Recruitment. Learning how to search for the perfect role can be challenging but there are so many ways in which you are able to make some quick wins that will give you a head start on finding your dream job. LinkedIn LinkedIn has the largest professional network in the world with over 500 million members. It is a great place to start your job search by creating a profile. Not only will this allow you to be found by recruiters but you will also be able to use the platform to find jobs using LinkedIn’s job search function. Using their filter function, you can search their job board on your preferred job title, location and even company name. You will have the ability to save your search and turn on alerts so that if any new roles arise that match your criteria, you can be one of the first applicants. Job Boards It is also worthwhile using job boards that are relevant with your industry. There are many specific platforms offering new vacancies and if you sign up to their daily newsletters, you can stay on top of any new jobs that come to their job boards. Also, it is important to be aware that if you search for a role directly within Google, its new smart function, Google Jobs, will return searches from job boards containing your key words.

Recruiters Signing on with relevant recruiters will hugely help your job search. Not only do recruiters assist with your search and match your experience with any vacancies, they also have fantastic relationships with their clients and can really help with your application. You can use as many recruiters as you wish to amplify your search, but it is important to be open with your consultants about your career requirements; they may not understand what you’re looking for and recommend roles that don’t match your requirements. Who Would You Love To Work For? Some organisations have limited resources when it comes to hiring; they may even simply use their own website to advertise vacancies. Make a list of your favourite companies and visit their websites; learn about their values and see if they have any vacancies that match what you’re looking for. If nothing is available, email your CV with a strong covering letter for their consideration for future available roles. Don’t forget to utilise the Juice website for more How to Guides, if you are looking for a great new recruit or a new role.
