The MRFS Group where we’ve been
Our History - over 25 years of excellence The history of the MRFS Group stretches back to 1983, when Tony Bygraves established the business as Mr Security. A short while after the name changed to MR Security and then to MR Fire & Security when the appropriate Fire accreditations were achieved. AVA by the MRFS Group has also been established so to represent our position within the Audio, Visual and Automation markets. The main aim of the Company in 1983 was much the same as it is now, to supply, install and maintain the best available systems to its Customers, and to offer the highest possible levels of service and value for money. By sticking to these principles, MRFS grew steadily, building a broad portfolio of Customers and working partners, and continually adding to its list of vital industry accreditations. The Company was soon supplying and installing sophisticated systems in commercial premises, public buildings, individual domestic residences and new developments of luxury homes and apartments. And as its business expanded, so its reputation grew as one of the UK’s most dynamic independent suppliers, installers and maintainers of electronic Fire, Security, Audio, Visual & Automation systems.
The MRFS Group where we are
The Present - building on what we’ve acquired and resourcing new skills and expertise In 2006 Tony Bygraves set about a programme of expansion, introducing new investors and acquiring a number of related businesses, which included Hoffman Security plc, Oakley Systems Ltd, Arrow Security and Secure Line Ltd. By integrating these Companies, MR Fire and Security Group was able to grow whilst simultaneously strengthening its ability to deliver unsurpassed standards of service to its Customers. The business was re-launched as the MRFS Group, with its head offices in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey. The Head Office underwent a total refurbishment, introducing the latest telephony and computer technology, along with a new branded vehicle fleet. In 2008 Brian Berry became a major shareholder in MRFS Group, and agreed to take on the role of Chairman. With his enormous experience in finance and management in blue chip organisations, his arrival has enabled the business to focus on becoming even more operatively dynamic and better prepared for further growth, whatever the prevailing economic climate.
The MRFS Group where we are going
The Future - New demands, technologies, and opportunities for the MRFS Group to excel. In good times or bad, security of person, premises and possessions is a priority investment. And so long as we continue to offer and deliver the highest possible levels of peace of mind to our Customers, we’re confident that we’ll continue to grow and flourish. But we’re not content simply to plough the same furrows, nor are we the kind of Company that closes its eyes to new and exciting opportunities. That’s why we’ve added Automation to our service offering. This is a perfectly natural area into which to extend our expertise. We’ve watched the demand for home and business automation to grow at a pace, led by astonishing advances in microchip and digital technology. It’s a demand for comfort, convenience and style that embraces everything from integral entertainment systems and finger tip lighting control to micro-climate management and high end audio/visual presentation equipment. And, with our long and intimate experience of supplying and installing sophisticated electronic systems into homes and businesses, the MRFS Group is ideally placed to excel in this continuing evolving market. In fact, we’re well ahead of the game; we’re now looking forward to the challenges and achievements of the next chapter in the history of our business.
