Arena Retail & Leisure Park is located on a highly visible site 2 miles (3.2km) from Glasgow City Centre on the corner of the junction of London Road and Springfield Road. Immediately adjacent is the new Scottish National Indoor Sports Arena (NISA) and the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome. Immediately opposite is Celtic FC and the site of the 2014 Commonwealth Games Athletes’ Village development; 1.5 miles East of the site is the Tollcross International Swimming complex. GLASGOW’S EXCITING NEW SPORTS DESTINATION
NATIONAL INDOOR SPORTS ARENA (NISA)
A new state of the art indoor sports arena for Scotland providing a full range of indoor facilities for all indoor sports events. These range from an ultra modern fully air conditioned athletics track and central sports facility with a capacity of 5,000 for track events and up to 8,000 seats for other events. Events already booked or in the course of being arranged from November through 2016 include international, national and youth competitions for Athletics, Judo, Badminton, Netball, Boxing, Gymnastics, Squash, Table Tennis, Weightlifting and Wrestling. In addition there are extensive gymnasium and ancillary training facilities which be the base for numerous national sporting organisations and teams who will use the NISA between major events for coaching and training.
SIR CHRIS HOY VELODROME This is a purpose built facility capable of hosting both international and national cycling events with a capacity for 3,000 spectators. There are confirmed bookings for major cycling competitions from December 2012 through 2016. In addition there will be regular training and coaching sessions between the major event bookings.
CELTIC FC This major football stadium is home to Celtic football team and is one of the largest in Scotland with a capacity of just under 60,000 spectators which will host the opening ceremony for the 2014 Commonwealth Games. Celtic have an average of 15 home football fixtures per season which attract an estimated 45,000 spectators to each match. In addition there are on average per season 4 European Championship and 4 major Europa cup matches which attract capacity crowds and a high proportion of foreign visitors.

INTERNATIONAL SWIMMING COMPLEX This modern swimming pool complex is being expanded for the 2014 Commonwealth Games by the addition of a new 50 metre training pool to complement the existing 50 metre training pool. When completed this development will create one of the largest swimming pool complexes in the UK with a seating capacity of 5000. In addition to hosting major national and international swimming competitions the complex will be the principal Scottish swimming and coaching facility for the country. Additionally many training sessions will be held throughout the year between major sporting events.
2014 COMMONWEALTH GAMES ATHLETES’ VILLAGE This major new development will provide the living accommodation for the estimated 6,500 athletes and officials from the 72 countries taking part in the Games. After the Games the village will provide initially over 700 homes for over 1,750 residents with planning for second phase of 700 homes for a further 1,750 residents to be built from 2015 onwards.
EVENTS DIARY A significant number of sporting events have already been confirmed and many more are in the course of being negotiated. A list of the sporting events already booked or in the course of being confirmed from the end of 2012 through 2016, and the estimated total number of attendees and hotel room nights that will be required, excluding the football fixtures to be held at Celtic FC is in the process of being compiled.

THE ARENA RETAIL & LEISURE PARK This development has been designed to provide hotel, shopping and ancillary services for the athletes, organisers and visitors to all the nearby sports arenas. In addition the development will provide local shopping and medical facilities to the immediate local residents which population is anticipated to increase to over 5,000 by 2015.
HOTEL & CONFERENCE COMPLEX A new 5 storey hotel with 145 keys all less able compliant; conference facilities for over 300 delegates in a range of accommodation from 10 to 50 persons and an external area for large functions in specialised facilities capable of hosting 500+ guests. The hotel amenities will include a buffet restaurant for over 200 covers with separate external access; a rooftop Sports Bar with sheltered open smoking area and views over the NISA and Velodrome; potential for a 600 sq m casino. There will be direct access from the hotel on to the landscaped piazza in front of the new arenas. Hotel guests will have privileged access to the NISA gymnasium and related amenities as well as tickets for all sporting events in the NISA.
RETAIL The accommodation will provide over 60,000 sq ft of modern retail space in unit sizes ranging from 2,500 sq ft (232 sq m) to 25,000 sq ft (2,323 sq m) for convenience shopping, discount and sporting/leisure retailing, fast food and local shopping.
COMMUNITY HEALTHCARE A new 3 storey 18,000 sq ft (1,672 sq m) state of the art combined medical and dentist healthcare facility with both orthopaedic and orthodontic specialists.
CAR PARKING Secure on site car parking - over 400 spaces on 3 levels.
