Dear Parents, I am writing to you to hopefully persuade you to make a donation to our new project to build a new Sixth Form Centre. I hope I can convince you that your money will go to a very worth cause. The current sixth form was built over 20 years ago. It was built to house 100 students at the time. The sixth form now has over 300students enrolled and is still growing. The facilities are cramped and uncomfortable. Theseare not conditions that help students to learn. Dr Zeus, Professor of Education at Edgware University has found in his research that students that have their own spaceto socialise and study in do 56%better at ‘A’ level than sixth formers who have inadequate amenities. One sixth former writes, ‘I have no where to study. It’s so busy and noisy in the sixth form centre. We desperately need somewhere else. Pleaseparents, can you help us?’ I know that many of you are probably thinking that your child is not currently in the sixth form, but I can assure you that by the time your son or daughter doesdo his or her ‘A’ levels, the benefits to their education will be huge. Don’t you want to improve your child’s chancesof gaining excellent ‘A’ level grades? I hope that you will consider my appeal carefully and make whatever donation you can.
