ARTISAN CENTR PLATFORM FOR PAITHANI WEAVERS LOCATION : YEOLA, NASHIK SITE : 1.4 acre. SEMESTER : 4 Design program was to design Artisan centre at Yeola, capital of paithani saree which will give platform to traditional weavers. The artisan center will be a unique place where visitors can experience the process of paithani manufacturing to finish product. the center will aim at facilitating consumers and ensuring global platform and appropriate returns for the weavers. Economical condition of weavers is very bad due to lack of political support and rich paithani businessman. Young generation of artisan’s is shifting towards other profession. In this situation design strongly aims to give importance to traditional weavers.

Design aims to give extreme importance to artisan people. Artisan unit is designed on high plinth of 1.2m and used traditional style of Peshwa architecture. Circulation is plan in such a way that provides continuous appreciation to artisan unit. Museum and av rooms gives information about Paithani and hard life of traditional weavers. After this visitors can physically experience hard work of weavers at artisan unit. After knowing about hard work of artisans visitor can go to selling outlet of Paithani.

DYING STITCHING This artisan unit is focus of the design and designed in traditional Peshwa Architecture. Maib courtyard allows interaction between artisan and visitors. Design of unit increase standard of living of artisans. thick stone wall, smaller courts allows cooling of temperature. Smaller court also provides indirect light which required for Paithani and space for small break of coffee for weavers.

KINDERGARTEN DESIGN FIRST STEP OF CHILD OUTSIDE HOME LOCATION : GR. RD, NASHIK SITE : 0.6 acre SEMESTER : 3 The design should engaged child’s mind as firstly they are going to spent time without family. Therefore Concept of Pinwheel arrived, which forms looks dynamic but as soon as air blows small child gets so much excited and forget other things. Like that office, staff block in front looks exciting but creates visual barrier. As air blows in structure i.e. children enter from this block whole design becomes vibrant, planning and different design element engages with child’s mind. Classrooms and other activities planned with respect to huge existing Mango tree. Design tried to Capture energy and enthusiasm of small children.

FOR BOHRA COMMUNITY LOCATION : TAKLI RD, NASHIK SITE : 5.6 acre SEMESTER : 5 The program was to design group housing scheme for Bohra Community in Nashik. Program includes different typologies such as buildings, twin bungalows, row house. Design focus on central community space which visually accessible from every unit in design. Central open space act as social interactive space which will bind the community. Design also consider believes of this community.

Every unit will get visual connection with central community/ green space. Orientation of ring of buildings is perpendicular to wind direction. Allows better wind flow through out the site. Design also provide space for commercial activities, secluded from central space. Design focused on to develops the spirit of community.

All the plans are derived from this module Module allows privacy for women as per community believes and maximum openness internally. Module also allows strong connection with surroundings without disturbing privacy of people.

DUPLEX BUILDING : Provides double height spaces and vertical landscape area which gives ambiance like bungalow which was there typical built form in Nashik. Vertical landscape act as partition which gives connection with surrounding as well as maintain privacy.

ROW HOUSE : Staggered planing helps to reduce internal wall still maintain visual privacy of womens. Light shaft increases quality of light and ventilation. Back side door of every row house open towards central open space. Encourage womens to come outside and spent time with each other.

CULTURAL CENTRE PLATFORM FOR TRIBAL ARTIST LOCATION : SHALIMAR, NASHIK SITE : 5.78 acre. SEMESTER. : 7 The program was to design cultural center which provides platform to tribal artist around Nashik district. This center should become identical. The site has lots of huge trees. Therefore idea was to design wall which flows with respect to existing trees. This whole wall act as an huge canvas which displays art forms and paintings of tribal community. these walls provides seamlessness to the journey. Whole circulation area becomes vibrant due to art work on walls and different workshops of different activities going on simultaneously.
