HELLO THERE! My name is Milica and the short answer to the “what do you do” question is that I am a photographer... But what I enjoy doing the most, is all what goes on before the photographing itself. The ideas and the process of bringing them to life! I enjoy coming up with creative solutions, making up naratives with a twist and finding creative and fun ways to tell and create them visualy! My work is a combination of playfulness, rich colors, wittiness, absurd humor, as well as great attention to detail. In the next pages are projects realized from the beginning to the end by MM - the photographer, but also creative and art director, GIF lover, stop motion animation enthusiast, and very often stylist, prop and set designer, producer and organiser. In 2021. I worked in Wannabe Magazine and Wannabe Media - a creative studio, a photo & video production from Belgrade. I worked as the Head of production and Art Director on daily tasks of the production with clients and brands such as:

SAFARI SAFARI is a photographic series inspired by the use of animal prints and imitations of animal skins, furs and feathers in fashion, and it mainly deals with the psychological background of the popularity of these products. Just like animals use their patterns, spots and colors of their skins and furs to merge with the environment in order to prolong their fleeting life for some time, humans mask every day in order to fit into social norms, the most frequent stereotypes. However, clothes with wild animal patterns and designs are directly contrary to the norms and stereotypes for, unlike the gray coats and numerous black garments, which are our most frequent clothing choices, tigers, leopards, snakes and rabbits are easy targets for the looks of the people around. What message do those who wear them want to send to us, and what do we read in it? What drives us to wrap up in the skin of exotic and often dangerous animal species? What kind of instincts and passions do certain animal patterns evoke in us? Do we subconsciously want to identify with the strength and positive qualities attributed to these animals?
CULINARY CRUMBS Kulinarske mrvice Mrvić Milice, or Culinary Crumbs by Milica Crumbs ( wich is sort of what my last name means in translation) is a book and a series of photographs inspired by my great grandmother’s cook book and also some handwriten and colected recepies from my grandmother. The original cook book is a mixture of recepies and useful tips for a modern housewife of the begining of the 20th century, and if you can imagine there are some pretty wierd tips. Some of the things are really useful, and I dont know why they are not more commonly known, but some are not really that much useable these days. You probably wont be making an icecream for 4 hours without having a freezer but with a tone of ice, but still it is great to know how it was done. Also the old Serbo-Croat language used here is so humorously direct and funny from this point of view, that it is a delight reading it. As I am aproximatly the same age now as my grate grandmother and grandmother were at the time they started using these advices and recepies, and as I am really not much of a cook, I decided to describe these recepies and some of the advices given in the book in the way they could be done. And as I heard cooking is a lot of fun once you get the hang of it.
