What to wear clothing guide. A good question that I am always asked before a photo session is “What should he/she wear”? Clothes play a huge part in a successful photo session. Clothing choices that add color, texture, playfulness, and most importantly your child’s personality are all some things that you can keep in mind when picking out your little one’s clothes. No need to worry about getting all dressed up for your session so you can disregard the suits and chiffon dresses. I enjoy photographing a session with a more “hip/edgy” feel to it. Jeans, overalls, sundresses, plain tees, petti skirts/tu-tu’s, and combining layers and textures will give your pictures that extra punch to your photos. If possible try to avoid all whites, loud distracting logos and character prints since they take away from the subject in the photo. Another important thing to remember is to accessorize: Hats, scarves, headbands, leggings, rain boots, necklaces, bracelets, neck ties, funky belts, as well as other accessories can be very effective ways to add texture and fun to your outfits. For Sibling groups, no need to be matchy matchy, clothes that are similar in style and color give a more coordinated look. Bare feet are especially fun and children love it. Remember, these are just ideas. Try to pick styles that reflect your child’s personality. If you do that, you'll never go wrong! Below I have provided a few visual images that will give inspiration and guidance in dressing for your child’s photosession. ** I am a huge fan of rainboots so if your little one(s) have a pair of rainboots please feel free to bring them.
