SUPER CORAL PROGRAMME
The MSC Foundation's pioneering Super Coral Programme in the Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve in the Bahamas works with leading universities and marine experts to identify, study and propagate hardy “super corals” that are more resistant to global warming and pollution. It is also developing a model for outplanting them to restore coral reefs sustainably and protect the livelihoods of countless communities around the world. Ocean Cay has been designated a 'Hope Spot' by the non-profit organisation Mission Blue, joining its global network of Hope Spots recognised as critical to ocean health with the goal of achieving the status of Marine Protected Areas.
