??? Complete the work

Abandon the work All centered in love Get an idea Elements of chaos behind everything

Experiment

The flow begins

Get an idea My brain is always collecting ideas and I use my visual journal to collect these ideas. Often times, I share my ideas with my students and they use them and turn them into their own. (Envision, observe, reflect) (Critical thinking, collaboration, creativity)

Experiment I use my visual journal to try out various materials and techniques. Then, I will try out what I liked the best in a larger format. (Develop craft, express, reflect, stretch & explore) (Creativity, critical thinking)

Abandon the work Eventually, I give up! I don’t know how to get past this stage at this point. I am struggling to get the finished work. I need to structure a time when I will revisit the work. I hope to use this stage to collaborate with colleagues. (Engage & persist, reflect) (Collaboration, communication) The flow begins During the experimentation phase, I begin to feel the flow experience and forget all around me. I may ask for feedback in this stage. (Express, envision, engage & persist) (Collaboration, creativity, critical thinking)

Complete the work??? I am currently struggling to complete one piece to a point where I feel that it is finished. I have about 5 different works in progress right now. I hope that as I reconnect with my identity as an artist, I will become more disciplined and work to complete my pieces.

All centered in love All of the work that I do focuses in love- love of my family, love of my students, love for myself. More recently, it has felt like a “labor of love, as I reconnect with my identity as a visual artist.

Elements of chaos behind everything The work that I do and the way in which I do it all feels very chaotic. My classroom looks like organized chaos. I plan a work, but it takes on its own chaotic form and the piece decides what it will be next. I feel that there is chaos behind everything I produce.
