Head Coach: Trent Miller (3rd season) Trent Miller became the program’s 22nd head coach in March 2021. He’s proven invaluable to the Mustangs’ staff, leading the team to a Great Plains Athletic Conference title in his second season as head coach (2023), for which he was named GPAC Coach of the Year. The Mustangs moved on to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Men’s Basketball Championship First and Second Rounds, winning their bracket to advance to the Round of 16 in Kansas City. As an assistant, the alumnus helped lead the Mustangs to four straight Great Plains Athletic Conference championships, four successive GPAC postseason tournament appearances, and four consecutive NAIA national tournament appearances, including reaching the Round of Eight in 2019. The program compiled a remarkable 105-20 record during his time as an assistant, and Miller was involved with mentoring three NAIA AllAmericans and eight first team allconference selections.

Head Coach: Matt Wilber (11th season) The 2022-23 season was just the second time in his nine seasons with the Tigers, the men’s basketball program finished below .500. Dakota Wesleyan men’s basketball posted the same exact overall and conference record as just a season ago, securing a 13-16 overall record and a 9-11 GPAC record. Under Matt Wilber, the men’s basketball program posted three GPAC All-Conference players in Koln Oppold, First-Team; Kallan Herman, Honorable Mention; and Jakob Dobney, Honorable Mention. Wilber and company also posted seven players to the 2023 Daktronics/NAIA Scholar-Athletes list this season in, Samuel Aslesen, Brady Fritz, Logan Graham, Blaze Lubbers, Chase Merill, Tisyn Spader, and Oppold. Head coach Wilber also joined elite company this season after the December 2, 2022 overtime win against Doane at home when he surpassed 200 career wins, being just the third coach in DWU men’s basketball history to achieve 200+ wins (Doug Martin, 1988-05; Gordon Fosness, 1961-83).
