Morningside continued it hot start to the season with a win at Northwestern Wednesday.
The 7-1 win over Northwestern is the largest margin of victory since a 7-0 win over Mount Marty on Oct. 22, 2022.
Doane lost their first GPAC match of the season Sunday at Jamestown, 1-0.
Morningside is one of four unbeaten GPAC teams remaining, and will face two of the other unbeatens over the next week when they face Hastings Saturday and Concordia Wednesday.
Morningside’s Keyera Harmon is fourth in the GPAC with six goals this season.

Head Coach: Tom Maxon (24th season)
Maxon has a 206-181-25 record since starting the varsity program in 2000. He has led Morningside to three NAIA national tournament appearances, most recently in 2015 when the Mustangs punched their national tourney ticket with a 2-1 victory over Concordia in the GPAC tournament championship. He was named 2013 GPAC Women’s Soccer Coach of the Year after guiding the Mustangs to a 14-3-4 record and the GPAC regularseason championship and 2007 GPAC and NAIA Region III Women’s Soccer Coach of the Year after going 17-3-1, winning the GPAC and Region III championships and gaining a second straight national tournament appearance. In 2006, the Morningside went 15-5-1 record and earned their first-ever national berth.
Maxon also coached five seasons in the Premier Development League developing a regional finalist squad (1999 Sioux City Breeze) and a national final four (2001 Sioux Falls SpitFire) team. He holds a USSF ‘A’ License and is a 1988 graduate of the University of Southern Maine, where he had a standout soccer career, and earned his master’s degree in Sports Management from the United States Sports Academy in 1990.

Taking over in 2016, Coach Jennifer Kennedy-Croft’s track record in college soccer is strong, dating back to her playing days at the University of Connecticut where she played in the NCAA National Title game.
Following the 2022-23 season, Doane has had 16 All-Conference players selected and 45 Scholar-Athletes. Doane has received the NAIA Scholar Team honor, a 3.0 varsity grade point average during the academic year, in each of Coach Kennedy-Croft’s seasons.
Prior to Doane, she has served as an assistant coach at Connecticut, Maine, Princeton, Rhode Island and Arkansas before landing her first head coaching position at then-NAIA member Seattle University. She transitioned back to the NCAA ranks as an assistant at Utah State and later became the Aggies’ head coach.
