Come Celebrate Snowmobiling at Midwest Ride-In January 27-28

t might be one of our favorite snowmobile weekends of the year, and we may not even ride one mile. The Midwest Ride-In at ERX Motor Park in Elk River, Minnesota is the world’s biggest and arguably best antique, vintage, and classic snowmobile event. While the January 27-28 event is known for old iron, recently after making the move to ERX where nearly 500-acres of trails, racetracks, fields, ponds, parking areas, and first-class facilities await, Midwest RideIn has become something all snowmobilers can enjoy. From rear-engine antiques to the latest turbo-charged snowmobiles, Ride-In is a gathering of snowmobile enthusiasts who simply love the sport.

This year, Ride-In attendees will discover some significant changes. For starters, the event switches to a Friday and Saturday event, leaving Sunday a chance for participants to travel home. Ride-In has attendees from as far away as New Brunswick, and even Europe, thus the travel day will be welcomed change. Other changes include the elimination of the evening banquet, the addition of a second trail ride, and an all-new retro terrain race geared toward the popular 1990’s IFS snowmobiles.

Of course, there’s plenty of popular returning features as well, including the indoor showroom with the year’s featured snowmobiles, hundreds of silent auction items, a swap meet, the renowned show sled competition, Kids Pro Ice racing, and a Friday evening Ice Breaker party in the showroom.

This year’s featured snowmobile is not brand, like it often is, but instead a “kind” of snowmobile…the beastly and often formidable triple-cylinder snowmobiles. Appropriately themed “Triple Wars,” this year’s event will showcase three cylinder, and even four-cylinder sleds from the 70s all the way through the 90s and beyond. With huge, finned cylinders, bulging triple pipes, and that unmistakable sound, Ride-In will literally be “buzzing” with multi-cylinder monsters.
