THE BOOK OF SPOOP

ABOUTUS • WGEN (the Women & Gender Equity Network) is an intersectional feminist organization that operates with an antioppressive lens. •We work with other existing groups on campus to make sure that we are planning comprehensive and effective campaigns that are both accessible and engaging. •We also hold fun social events to help build community, these range from crafternoons to movie nights. • Something new for us this year is a permanent safe(r) space (The Feminest) in MUSC 204. This is meant to be a place where women, transfolk, and survivors of sexual assault feel supported, validated, and heard.

"You're not being 'oppressed' when another group gains rights that you've always had."

OCTOBER EVENTS #ENGWOMENTALK OCT22 WGEN and #ENGWOMENTALK launched the first Conversational Circle! Meant for healing discussions around gender identity for women identified folks in Engineering. The event was held in the WGEN space, and was a lovely evening of introductions and discussion. This event will be held bi-monthly.

MAC ALLIANCE FOR BODY PEACE A day event in the MUSC talking Body Positivity! The Mac community celebrated all our bold and brilliant body forms through body-positive messages written on a chalkboard, framing individuals and groups of people who stopped by for pictures! This event will occur again this semester.

VOLUNTEER TRAINING As part of WGEN's goals for training volunteers and planning training for future years, we recently did some additional Trans 101 training and a workshop with SACHA about community partnerships and dealing with disclosures. Both sessions provided valuable information and insight for our volunteers to better support their McMaster peers

THANKS FOR COMING! Crepp you l8r! -WGEN

SPOOPTACULAR In celebration of the Halloween season, WGEN held the Spooptacular - an event dedicated to all things spooky! Guests were invited to enjoy endless assortments of Halloween treats while engaging in fun feminist discourse. The highlight of our event was the Meninist Wall of Horrors, a wall filled with the most disturbing meninist content on the interwebs. A spooky screening of Hocus Pocus closed off the festivities.
