Awesome facts about Pompeii, Herculaneum and Vesuvius Many known places Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Vesuvius have quite beautiful insights that one is hardly aware of.


It was said that over 13% of the total population of Pompeii died in the initial blast. Nearly a population of around 15,000 people were there, and an estimated 2,000 died.


Mount Vesuvius is most dangerous volcanoes one in the worlds. The eruptions of it are explosive involve pyroclastic flows, which cause the fast-moving currents fluidized rock and gases.


Pompeii became frozen in time when the historians found a glimpse into what life was like in ancient Rome when more than 1,000 casts were made of recovered bodies which were preserved in the ash.

An architect of Domenico Fontana unearthed some of the frescos and items, but many of them had a strong sexual theme which was not considered a good thing in that age, so he decided to rebury them.
