MEDITATION CABIN IN CORK AND WOOD. DESIGNED TO ENJOY PEACEFULLY THE GREEN LANDSCAPE OF VALE DE MOSES.

A FLEXIBLE SPACE CENTRED ON THE TREE OF LIFE, SYMBOL OF CONNECTION BETWEEN EARTH AND MIND.

NATURAL MATERIALS ARE USED IN THE MOST EFFICIENT WAY TO HAVE THERMAL CONFORT IN ALL WEATHER CONDITIONS.

ENERGY SAVING STRATEGIES WERE ADOPTED TO CREATE A PASSIVE SOLAR DESIGN IN THE MOST ECOLOGICAL APPROACH TO THE SITE.

Pre-cast concrete footings anchor the cabin to the ground. They can be installed by hand and reused in other location. Timber frame floor elevated from ground moist by galvanized steel posts. Cross laminated timber panels as walls and roof form solid structure and interior finish. Cork panels as thermal insulation covers roof, walls and floor. Double lattice over waterresistant yet breathable sheet, to allow ventilation on walls and Thermaly treated timber cladding, deck and metal roof. The outside temperature is blocked by thermal insolation layer and the inside temperature is kept by the CLT pannels thermal Air flow goes crossways between window and door, that tilts to ventilate.
