NOURISH NEBRASKA THE GOAL OF THIS PROJECT IS TO CREATE EXPERIENCES IN THE URBAN INTERIOR TO ENHANCE AWARENESS, KNOWLEDGE, ACCESS,AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR MEANINGFUL CONNECTION TO NATURE FOR UNDER-RESOURCED POPULATIONS - ESPECIALLY AROUND THE TOPICS OF FOOD SECURITY AND HEALTHY FOODS. THIS DESIGN ENCOMPASSES AN APPROACHABLE INTERIOR ENVIRONMENT THAT PROVIDES ACCESS TO FRESH PRODUCE ALONG WITH AN EDUCATION THAT SETS CONSUMERS UP FOR LONG TERM HEALTHY LIFESTYLE CHANGES AND BENEFITS.

AQUAPONIC SYSTEM FROM THE NOURISH NEBRASKA PROJECT AT 1:1 SCALE, A MODEL OF AN AQUAPONIC SYSTEM THAT GROWS AND SUPPLIES FRESH HERBS FOR THE COOKING CLASSES HELD IN THE TEACHING KITCHENS.

WOOD VERSA-TILES GIVEN A 32” PIECE OF DIMENSIONAL LUMBER, A NEW MATERIAL MUST BE CREATED USING THE WHOLE PIECE AND WITH ONE ADDITIONAL MATERIAL. THE LUMBER WAS TURNER INTO FLOOR, CEILING, AND WALL TILES. BY BOOK MATCHING THE GRAIN, THE TILES FORMED A NATURAL PATTERN THAT CAN BE INSTALLED TO CREATE DIFFERENT PATTERNS.
