When Appalachian State has the ball: Appalachian State running back Darrynton Evans finished the season with 1,250 yards and 16 touchdowns. Quarterback Zac Thomas has also passed for 2,427 yards and 24 touchdowns in leading the Mountaineers to four straight wins, including a 20-15 win over South Carolina. App State beat Troy 48-13 on Nov. 29 without the services of receiver Corey Sutton, who injured his knee a week earlier in a 35-13 win over Texas State.

Elijah Mitchell leads the Ragin Cajuns in rushing with 1,007 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, and the Cajuns have won six straight games after losing to App State 17-7 on Oct. 9. App State has the No. 1 defense in the Sun Belt by allowing 134.3 rushing yards and 186.8 passing yards per game.
