Time Out With...Tia What was your most memorable moment at Mount Tabor?

Last year in the Conference Championship. I had 26 points, 1 0 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 2 steals. And I was All-Conference MVP.

What was your saddest time?

[When we lost] to West in the fourth round of the playoffs.

What do you like the most about playing basketball? I like offense because I like to score.

Who is your basketball role model? I model my game after Maya Moore.

What have you brought to the team this year?

I bring hustle, enthusiasm, and great defense to the Mount Tabor basketball team.

Do you plan to play basketball after high school?

I plan to continue my basketball career through college [at North Carolina Central].

What was your proudest accomplishment at Mount Tabor? [That] I had almost 1 ,000 career points.

What motivates you to play basketball?

[I am] motivated by the desire to repay my parents for all the things they’ve done for me.

What is your favorite team?

The 2011 -201 2 Pittsburgh Steelers.

What one thing would you improve about your game?

If there was one thing I could improve about my game it would be my attitude.




Time Out With...Josh What sparked your interest in wrestling?

I was curious about what it was like, considering my brothers had wrestled.

When did you have your first match?

Sophomore year against Carver. First win, too!

Who was your hardest matchup?

Malcolm Blackmon, because he was a state champ and he was really strong.

What was your most memorable matchup?

When I won first place in an offseason tournament because I was close until I pinned [my opponent].

What do you like the best about wrestling?

The fact that it comes down to what you know and how good you are. If you lose, it's on you.

What do you like to do before a match?

Zone out, listen to music and think about what I want to do.

Do you have a future in wrestling? If not, what will you do? No, I want to be a physical therapist or in the military.

Who do you model your game after?

It's difficult to have a model for this sport. The best thing is to work on moves that you've seen people do.






Time Out With...Lori When did you start playing? 6th grade.

What do you like about basketball? I like that it’s a team sport.

Why did you want to play basketball?

I grew up watching basketball with my dad and brother and it just was a sport I’ve always wanted to play.

What position do you play? Shooting guard.

Who is your favorite player?

Chris Paul, because he is a really talented player and I grew up watching him play at Wake.

Do you want to play in college? I’m undecided but probably not.

What number are you? 5

Do you play basketball outside of Tabor? Yes, I play AAU.

Why did you choose to play for Tabor?

I thought is a was a good program and liked the school.




Time Out With...Ty'Quan What made you want to start playing basketball? Something to do in my spare time.

What age did you start? 10

What has been your best experience in basketball? Making the varsity team.

Who is your favorite NBA player?

KD. Kevin Durant he is the best player in the league. He is also a smooth, athletic, shooter.

How do you maximize your talent? Bring my A game.

What do you plan on doing after high school? Play basketball in college.

Do you plan on going pro? It’s a dream.

Who inspired you to play the game? Myself, to get better

What influences you to play hard?

Myself, parents, coaches and teammates.


Time Out With...Destiny What is your most memorable time in high school basketball?

When we played West Forsyth, [we lost] by 20 and came back and won this year.

What were the most points you scored in a game? 1 0 points against Davie.

What are your plans after high school?

To go to college and hopefully get a scholarship in basketball.

How long have you been playing? Four years.

Who is your role model?

Mya Moore, because she is a very humble person.

Who is your favorite team (besides Tabor)?

Duke. I love the fans, the Cameron Crazies and Coach K.

Do you like offense or defense better?

Defense, because I like stealing the ball and starting a fast break.
