Presidential Update Dear Brothers in Delta Upsilon, Greetings from 400 E. Vine Street. I hope this Open Visor finds all of alumni brothers in the midst of a safe and prosperous holiday season. The undergraduates are nearing what has been a busy and successful fall semester for the Miami Chapter of Delta Upsilon. While December is a time for our brothers to put fraternal activities aside in order to fulfill our scholastic responsibilities, the brothers have enjoyed a fall semester with a vigorous schedule full of philanthropic, social, alumni and athletic chapter events.

It was encouraging to see the fraternal bonds between these brothers that are as strong today as they were nearly fifty years ago. This experience proved to many of us that Delta Upsilon brotherhood truly stands the test of time. As the fall semester draws to close, seniors are beginning to look to their future as they pass leadership of the Delta Upsilon onto a younger generation of brothers. These underclassmen will be charged with the task of propagating the traditions of our beloved Delta U while adapting to the unique challenges of fraternal life today. As always, our alumni remain an integral part of our organization. Thank you for your continued support of our chapter. Fraternally, Patrick M. Bloom 2007 Undergraduate President

We are currently in the process of adding our letters written out in English to the front of our house to help potential new members begin to associate our name with our letters. While these may be small steps, we hope they will help bring in another strong class of new brothers and continue to build DU into one of the strongest fraternities on Miami’s campus.
DU Seeks to Increase Visibility The past year the Miami Chapter of Delta Upsilon has become more visible within the Oxford community. Our chapter is currently the focal point in an upcoming article in The Miami Student about our latest philanthropy, “DU Dog Days”. Approximately every week brothers drive to Hamilton, OH and pick up several dogs from the animal shelter and take them out for the afternoon. We have paired with Pi Beta Phi Sorority and walk around town with the dogs, building better relations with the sisters of Pi Beta Phi and giving these pups a day out on the town at the same time.

As a result, our chapter is in need of a number of items that would enhance the chapter house’s brotherhood and study space. If you a have any of the following items that you plan to discard, donate or sell at reasonable cost, the undergraduates would happily take them off your hands: tables/desks file cabinets televisions weight/workout equipment
