In 2022 I am starting this new photo ebook series titled "DAY TRIP", and this is the first ebook in this series.
A little background on my photography...

I started my photography brand, MUDPIX OUTDOORS in 2016 when I began photographing the scenery around the lakes in my local areas. West Point Lake, and Lake Harding has always been my primary focus with my photography. I love to photograph how the scenery looks at my favorite locations when I go on my day trips, and I take lots of trips when I can. It's amazing to me that I never get tired of photographing the same locations time after time. The reason for that is because there is always something different each time I go.
What motivated me to get serious with my photography brand, and the selling of my work in pdf photo ebooks is that I wanted people to be able to enjoy the beautiful scenery that I get to see each time I go on one of my day trips. West Point Lake has many recreation parks to visit, and they all have something unique about them to photograph. So my photography work never feels monotonous, and there are so many locations I can go to in order to avoid becoming bored in my work.
The outdoor locations around West Point Lake & Lake Harding (mostly West Point Lake) in Alabama & Georgia, has for many years, since at least 2003 or before, been my favorite places to spend time outdoors with my camera.
Those locations are as follows:
ON WEST POINT LAKE...
Earl Cook Recreation Lower Glass Recreation Long Cane Park R. Sheaford Heard Park Eagle View Park West Point Lake Dam (shoreline & beach) Hardley Creek Park West Overlook Viewpoint Anderson Park Southern Harbor Rocky Point Recreation Veasey Creek Park Sunny Point Park
Some of the parks listed above, I have only visited once or very
few occasions while others are major routine visits for my photography. There are more parks I haven't visited yet, and some I did and discovered they weren't memorable enough to go back to as of the publishing of this ebook. I think I remember once many years ago going out of the way to look at other places, but that one time wasn't well planned, and I remember it being a long drive I don't think I cared for. So I never attempted going out of my way again since. I hope to in the future to maybe be able to go explore other areas again to see if they are worth adding into my photography project.
ON LAKE HARDING...
Valley Park Long Bridge Poor Boy's Landing (Po-Boy Landing) Bartlett's Ferry Dam (Sunny Point Park) Goat Rock Dam (Goat Rock Recreation)
These places on Lake Harding, and Goat Rock Lake (aka Oliver Lake - I think) can be favorites of mine to visit occasionally as long as there aren't a lot of people around. The parks on these lakes are much smaller than the ones around West Point Lake, so I spend the majority of my time around West Point Lake for that reason, and because there are more beautiful views at West Point Lake. Also, if I'm going to Lake Harding, it's because it's closer to home, and I didn't feel like driving to West Point Lake that day.
ON LAKE MARTIN...
Wind Creek Recreation
I have only visited Wind Creek on Lake Martin for my photography once so far at the time I'm publishing this ebook. I hope to go back again soon.
So what is my DAY TRIP photo ebook series primary focus you may ask?...
In this ebook series, my focus is mainly on all of the nature shots. In the original series I started in 2016 called MUDPIX MAGAZINE (now rebranded to MUDPIX OUTDOORS), there is a mix of nature photography along with shots of people such as boaters, fishermen, and shore dwellers as they are out enjoying their time around the waters. This DAY TRIP ebook series brings my photography mission back to it's original purpose of providing viewers the scenery they want to see, without focusing on people in the work. So you are not going to see photos of people in this ebook series like you will in my other ebooks.
Another aspect of this ebook series that I get to bring you, is my dashmount road trip photography. This is where I mount my smartphone (currently as of this issue a Samsung Galaxy Note 20
Ultra) to the window in my truck, and use a bluetooth shutter button to take photos of the traffic ahead, and around me, as well as the highway scenery when I'm driving to locations around the lake. Using a shutter button in this way with my phone mounted to the window, allows me to drive safely while also capturing some traffic shots along the way. It is as fun to me to take these highway photos as it is the nature shots around the lake, because the photos just add to the memories of the day spent for me. For you, there might be something interesting captured in a photo on the road that wouldn't have been captured any other way. I always love when I am able to capture a cool car or truck with my camera.
So to sum up this ebook series in a nutshell, I go on road trips for a day to my favorite locations around two of the best lakes in Alabama and Georgia, I take tons of photos along the way on the highway and around the lakes, and pack them up in ebooks in chronological order as I photographed them throughout the day for you to enjoy. I will keep the writing in these ebooks as minimal as possible, with enough information that you can know where the photos were taken. That way you can dive right in and see what I saw on each day I went on a trip.
