COLECCION ALEXANDRA NEW COLLECTION: RINGO, LEONID DESIGNER: COLECCIÓN ALEXANDRA Studio DESCRIPTION: By mixing tradition and innovation with different cultural inspirations has created new appealing collections such as the RINGO and the LEONID, on display in Milan. Highly attractive and upholstered in precious fabrics, the curved RINGO sofa features a new modular version that offers more possibilities of configuration. The RINGO collection is completed by a spectacular center table whose well-turned legs combine perfectly with the base of the sofa.

The LEONID collection has been extended including now an amazing table available also in an extendable version (350 x 110 cm). The collection is comprised of stackable side chairs and armchairs available in different steel and aluminum bases (four legs, sled base and two options of a swivel central base with and without wheels). FLEXA is especially resistant for continued use in public spaces that is only carried out through thermo-polymer reinforced with fiber glass. The design, thought under the environmental criteria, makes it ideal for its use as a collective seat where it requires being a chair that is sincere, practical, resistant and functional. The basic structure of this programme is composed by two or three combed wood stratus, that combine in size and finishings to conform different models.

Concord represents the fusion between the Nordic style, in which the natural tone woods prevail, and the Mediterranean warmth and color, with vivid tones in the upholstery.

SPANISH FURNITURE TRADE 2012 According to ESTACOM statistics, Spanish furniture exports closed 2012 with a positive result: sales abroad amounted to 1.389 million Euros, registering an encouraging growth of +3.4%, comparing to 2011. On the import side, figures indicate that at the end of 2012 Spain’s furniture imports decreased sharply by 14.0%, amounting to 1.951,7 million Euros. Import and export figures revealed that the deficit of the Spanish furniture trade balance amounts to 562 million Euros, while the import/export coverage ratio makes up 71.2%.

MAIN EXPORT MARKETS FOR SPANISH FURNITURE 2012 European markets are the main destinations for Spanish furniture, with France, Portugal, Germany, Italy and United Kingdom at the top of Spain’s major furniture purchasers. A country where Spain is doing particularly well is Morocco that ranks now 6th among main Spain’s clients – just behind 5 EU countries -.

 Could you tell us about the Spanish furniture sector? The furniture sector is passing through difficult times, as other Spain’s traditional industries. In Spain, furniture consumptions have almost come to a standstill. At the moment, things are going better only abroad. According to latest statistics, during 2012 furniture exports have increased by 3.4%. This good result reflects the effort of Spanish firms in strengthening their international presence and pushing up furniture sales to foreign markets.  What are your forecasts for the year 2013? What are your expectations? As we have already said, exports are the only way for Spain’s economy and the good results of Spain and the Valencian Community, that registered an increase of furniture exports of +3.4% and + 12.8% respectively, make us believe that by the end of 2013 Spanish sales of furniture to foreign markets will have risen by 5%. We think that in the forthcoming period exports will be still on an upward trend, while the number of companies is expected to shrink even more. Although it’s true that internationalized enterprises are expanding their presence in global markets, especially in the emerging ones, prospects for companies that are starting now to export are not so rosy. There is no other way to face the crisis and get over it, though. That’s why the Spanish Association of Furniture Manufacturers and Exporters (ANIEME) keeps on encouraging the Spanish furniture companies to improve their position in main markets all around the world.  Which are the next international events where we can find MUEBLE DE ESPAÑA? MARINER has furnished a Conference room in Bata, Equatorial Guinea The Spanish company MARINER has recently completed work on the furnishing of an institutional conference room in Bata, Equatorial Guinea. Founded in 1893, the company has specialized in high‐end neoclassical and contemporary furniture and lighting.
