13. THE POSITION OF THE แนขAแธคฤBAH (6) Besides the Qurโฤn, the Prophet (โซ )๏ทบโฌalso mentioned the merits of his แนฃaแธฅฤbah, the muhฤjirฤซn and the anแนฃฤr. Among them are as follows: ู โซููููู ูุคู โฌ โซูโฌ ู โซููููุญุจููู ููู ูุฅโฌ ู ูโูโซุตุงุฑโฌ ูู โซูุนููโู ูุงู ูุจ ูุฑุง ููุกู ููุงโฌ ู โซู ููุงููุงู ูููุจููโู๏ทบูุงุฃู ููโฌ,ูโซูโฌ ููู ูโูโซุถูโฌ โซูููุงโฌ ููู ูโูโซูโู ูู ูููโูุฃู ูุญุจููู ููู ูุฃู ูุญุจูููโฌ,ูโซููููู ููุงููโฌ ู โซููููุจูุบุถู ููู ูุฅโฌ ู โซููโฌ ู โซุถู ููู ูุฃู ูุจ ูุบโฌ ู โซูููุงู ูู ูู ูููโูุฃู ูุจ ูุบโฌ (โซ)ุฑูุงููุงูุจุฎุงุฑููููู ุณูู ูููุงูุชุฑู ุฐููููุฃุญู ุฏโฌ Narrated al-Barrฤโ r.a., the Prophet (โซ )๏ทบโฌsaid, โNone loves the Anแนฃฤr (Supporters) but a believer, and none hates them but a hypocrite. So the Prophet (โซ )๏ทบโฌinvoked Allah accordingly (Reported by al-Bukhฤrฤซ) ู ูโซุถ ููุงูุงูููุฐูู ูุน ููููู ููู โฌ ูู โซูุนูู ูุฃู ููุณู ููุงโฌ ู โซุตุงุฑูโู ููุฅ ูููู ููู ู ููุฑุดูู ูู ูุน ูู ูุจุชูู ูู ูู ููุฏู ููโฌ ู โซููุฃูุตูู ููู ูุจ ูุงุฃูู ููโฌ ู ู)โซููุงูููุฐููููู ููู ู ููุง ูู ูุจููุงูู ูููโูู ุญู ุณูู ููู ู ูู ูุช ูุฌ ูุงูุฒูุงู ูุนูููโูู ุณูุฆู ููู ู(ุฑูุงููุงูุจุฎุงุฑูโฌ ูู โซูู ูุจูโฌ Narrated Anas that the Messenger of Allah said: โI request you to take care of the Anแนฃฤr, as they are my near companions to whom I confided my private secrets. They have fulfilled their obligations and rights which were enjoined on them but there remains what is for them. So, accept the good (deeds) of the good-doers amongst them and excuse the wrong-doers amongst them. On this, Saโd (bin โUbฤdah) followed us and said, "O Abลซ Usayd! Donโt youI see that the Prophet (โซ )๏ทบโฌcompared the Anแนฃฤr and made us the last of them in ssuperiority?โ Then Saโd met the Prophet (โซ )๏ทบโฌand said: โO Messenger of Allah! In comparing the Anแนฃar families as to the degree of superiority, you have made us the last of them.โ Then he replied: โIsnโt it sufficient that you are regarded amongst the best?โ (Reported by al-Bukhฤrฤซ) The above แธฅadฤซths indicate that the Prophet (โซ)๏ทบโฌ lovedthe แนฃaแธฅฤbah in general, and the Anแนฃฤr in particular. โซูููุงู ูุน ููููููโู ูู ูุณููู ููู ูุฃู ููู ููโฌ ููู ูโซุตููููโฌ ููู ูโซูโฌ ูู โซูุนูููโูุฃ ูุณุง ูู ููุฉูุจูููโู ูุฒููุฏูโู ูุฑุถโฌ ู ูโูโซูููุงู ูุน ููู ูู ุงูุงููููโูุงู ูููุจูโฌ โซูู ูู ููููููโูุงููููู ูููู ูุฃูุญุจููู ูู ุงู ููุฅูููุฃุญุจููู ูู ุงู(ุฑูุงููุงูุจุฎุงุฑูโฌ ูู โซุงูู ููุฃูุฎุฐููโู ูู ูุงู ูุญ ูุณโฌ ูู โซ) ููโฌ Narrated Usฤmah ibn Zayd r.a. that the Prophet (โซ)๏ทบโฌ used to take him (i.e., Usฤmah) and al-แธคasan (in his lap) and say: โO Allah! Love them, as I love them.โ (Reported by al-Bukhฤrฤซ) The above แธฅadฤซth indicates that the Prophet (โซโ )๏ทบโฌs love for these young แนฃaแธฅฤbah. ู ูโซุงูโฌ ูู โซูููุงู ูุน ููููููโู ูู ูุณููู ููู ูุงูู ูุณุง ููุกู ููุงูุต ูุจ ููโฌ ููู ูโซุตููููโฌ ูู โซูููุงู ูุน ููููโู ููุงโฌ ููู ูโซูโฌ ูู โซูุนูููโูุฃู ููุณูโู ูุฑุถโฌ ู ูโูููโซูู ูุฑุฃูููุงู ูููุจููโฌ ูโซูโฌ ู ู โซูููุงู ูุนููููููโู ูู ูุณููู ููู ูู ู ู ุซโฌ ููู ูโซุตููููโฌ ูู โซูู ูุญุณุจูุชูโูุฃู ูููููโู ููุงโฌ ูู โซููู ููุงโฌ ูู โซู ููุจูโฌ ู ูโูููโซููู ูููโูุนุฑุณูโู ูู ููุง ููู ูุงู ูููุจูโฌ )โซุซูู ูุฑุงุฑู(ุฑูุงููุงูุจุฎุงุฑูโฌ ูู โซููุงููููู ูููู ูุฃู ููุช ููู ูู ูููโูุฃู ูุญุจูโูุงู ูููุงุณูโูุฅููููููโู ููุงูู ููุงู ูุซ ููโฌ ูู โซู ูู ููุงโฌ Narrated Anas r.a. the Prophet (โซ )๏ทบโฌsaw the women and children (of the Anแนฃฤr) coming forward (the sub-narrator)

said, I think that Anas said, โThey were returning from a wedding partyโ) the Prophet (โซ )๏ทบโฌstood up and said thrice, โBy Allah! You are from the most beloved people to melโ (Reported by al-Bukhฤrฤซ) ูโซูููุงู ูุนููููููโู ูู ูุณููู ููู โฌ ููู ูโซุตููููโฌ ููู ูโซูโฌ ูู โซูุนูู ู ูุน ูู ุฑููุจูููโู ูุงู ูุนุงุตูโู ูุฑุถโฌ ู ูโูููโซูููุงู ูุน ููููโูุฃูููููโูุงู ูููุจูโฌ ูโซูโฌ ูู โซูู ููุงโฌ ูู โซูุจ ูุน ูุซููโู ูุนูููู ูุฌููุดูโู ูุฐุงุชูโูุงูุณ ููููุณููโู ููุฃ ู ูุชููุชููโู ููู ููุชูโูุฃูููููโูุงู ูููุงุณูโูุฃู ูุญุจูููโูุฅูู ููโฌ ูโซููุซ ูููู ูุน ูู ุฑูโูุจููโฌ ูู โซููุฃูุจู ููุงูู ููุชูโูุซ ูููู ู ูู ูููโู ููุงโฌ ูู โซูุนุงุฆ ูุดุฉูโู ููู ููุชูโูู ูููโูุงูุฑ ูุฌุงููโู ูู ููุงโฌ ู )โซุงูู(ุฑูุงููุงูุจุฎุงุฑูููู ุณูู โฌ ู ู โซู ูุงู ูุฎ ููุทุงุจูโู ูู ูุน ูููุฏูุฑ ูุฌโฌ Narrated โAmr ibn al-โฤแนฃ r.a. the Prophet (โซ )๏ทบโฌdeputed me to lead the army of Dhฤt al-Salฤsil. I came to him and said, โWho is the most beloved person to you?โ He said, โโฤโishah,โ I Asked, โAmong the men?โ He said, โHer father.โ I said, โWho then?โ He said, โโUmar ibn al-Khaแนญแนญฤb,โ He then names other men. (Reported by al-Bukhฤrฤซ and Muslim) This แธฅadฤซth indicates the high position of Abลซ Bakr, then โUmar among the แนฃaแธฅฤbah, and among women, ฤโishah. ู โซุตุน ููุฏูุฃุญ ูุฏุงโฌ ููู ูโซุตููููโฌ ููู ูโซูโฌ ูู โซููู ูู ุงูููโู ูุฑุถโฌ ูู โซุณูุจโฌ ูู โซูุนูู ูุฃู ููโฌ ู ูโซูููุงู ูุนููููููโู ูู ูุณููู ููู โฌ ู ูโูููโซูููุงู ูุน ููููโูุฃูููููโูุงู ูููุจูโฌ ูโูโซูู ููุจููโู ููุตุฏููโฌ ูู โซุชูุฃุญุฏูโู ููุฅ ููู ูู ุงูโู ูุนูู ููโฌ ูู โซูู ูุงุซุจโฌ ูู โซููุจู ููู ู ูู ููุงโฌ ูู โซููุฃูุจูู ูุจ ููุฑูโู ููุน ูู ุฑูโู ููุน ูุซ ูู ุงููโู ูู ูุฑ ูุฌโฌ )โซูู ูุดูู ูุฏุงููโู(ุฑูุงููุงูุจุฎุงุฑูููุฃุจููุฏุงุคุฏููุงูุชุฑู ุฐูููุงููุณุงุฆูโฌ Narrated Anas bin Malik: The Prophet (โซ )๏ทบโฌascended the mountain of Uhud and he was accompanied by Abu Bakr, 'Umar and 'Uthman. The mountain shook beneath them. The Prophet (โซ )๏ทบโฌhit it with his foot and said, "O Uแธฅud! Be firm, for on you there is none but a prophet, a Siddiq and two martyrs. (Reported by al-Bukhฤrฤซ, Abลซ Dฤโลซd, al-Tirmidhฤซ, and al-Nasฤโฤซ) This แธฅadฤซth indicates the high position of Abลซ Bakr, โUmar and โUthmฤn, whereas the last two would be martyrs, among the แนฃaแธฅฤbah. ู ูโซูู ูููููโูู ููุชโฌ ูู โซูููุงู ูุน ููููููโู ูู ูุณููู ููู ู ููุงโฌ ููู ูโซุตููููโฌ ููู ูโซูโฌ ูู โซู ูุนูููโูุงุจูููโู ูุนุจููุงุณูโู ูุฑุถโฌ ู ูโูโซูููุงู ูุน ููู ูู ุงู ูุนูููโูุงู ูููุจูโฌ )โซุตุงุญุจูู(ุฑูุงููุงูุจุฎุงุฑูโฌ ู ู โซูู ููุชุฎ ูุฐุงูู ูููโูุฃู ููุชูู ูุฎูโฌ ู โซููู ูู ููุช ูุฎ ูุฐุชูโูุฃู ูุจุงู ูุจ ููุฑูโู ููููููููโูุฃูุฎูู ููโฌ Narrated ibn โAbbฤs r.a. the Prophet (โซ )๏ทบโฌsaid:

If I were to take a khalฤซl (a bosom friend) among my followers I would have taken Abลซ Bakr, but he is my brother and my companion (in Islam) (Reported by al-Bukhฤrฤซ) ูโซูููุงู ูุน ููููููโู ูู ูุณููู ููู ู ููุฃ ู ูู ูุฑ ููุงโฌ ููู ูโซุตููููโฌ ูู โซููุฃู ูุชโฌ ูู โซู ูุนูู ูุฌ ูุจููุฑูโูุจูููโูู ูุทุนู ูโู ููุงโฌ ู ูโูููโซุชูุงู ููุฑุฃูุฉูโูุงู ูููุจูโฌ ูโซูโฌ ูู โซุชู ููุงโฌ ูู โซูู ููุฃ ู ููู ููุงู ูุชููููโู ูุงู ูู ููโฌ ูู โซูุชูุฅูููโูุฌ ูุฆุชูโู ูููู ููู ูุฃูุฌ ูุฏโฌ ูู โซุชูุฃู ูุฑุฃููโฌ ูู ูโซุฃููููโู ูุชุฑู ุฌ ููุนูุฅููููููโู ููุงูโฌ ู )โซูููุงู ูุนููููููโู ูู ูุณููู ููู ูุฅูููโููู ููู ู ูุชุฌุฏูููู ููุฃูุชููุฃู ูุจุงู ูุจ ููุฑูโู(ุฑูุงููุงูุจุฎุงุฑูโฌ ููู ูโซุตููููโฌ ู Narrated Jubayr ibn Muแนญโim: A woman came to the Prophet (โซ )๏ทบโฌwho ordered her to return to him again. She said, "What if I came and did not find you?" as if she wanted to say, "If I found you dead?" The Prophet (โซ)๏ทบโฌ said, "If you should not find me, go to Abu Bakr." (Reported by al-Bukhฤrฤซ) The above two แธฅadฤซths indicate the special position of Abลซ Bakr. ู โซูููุงู ูุนููููููโู ูู ูุณููู ููู ูููู ูุฎ ูู ูุจ ููุฑโฌ ููู ูโซุตููููโฌ ูู ููโซุงูู ูุนูููโู ูู ููุฏู ูุช ูุฎูโฌ ูู โซูู ููโฌ ูู โซูุนูููโู ูุณูู ูู ููุฉู ููุงโฌ ู ูโูโซูู ูุนูููโูุงู ูููุจูโฌ ู ูโซุฌโฌ ูู โซูููุงู ูุน ููููููโู ูู ูุณููู ููู ู ูู ูุฎ ูุฑโฌ ููู ูโซุตููููโฌ ููู ูโูโซููุฃู ููุงูุฃู ูุช ูุฎูููููโู ูุนูููโู ูุฑุณููโฌ ูู โซุงููุจููโู ูุฑ ูู ุฏูโู ูู ููุงโฌ ูู โซู ูู ููโฌ ู ูโซูููุงโฌ ู ูโซุงูู ูู ูุณุงุกูโูุงูููู ููููุฉูโูุงูููุชูู ูู ูุช ูุญ ููุงโฌ ูู โซูููุงู ูุนููููููโู ูู ูุณููู ููู ู ููููู ููุงู ููโฌ ููู ูโซุตููููโฌ ูู โซูุนูููโู ููููุญโฌ ู ูโูโซููุจุงู ูููุจูโฌ ู ูโููโซูููุงู ูุนููููููโู ูู ูุณููู ููู ู ูุฃูุนู ุท ููููููโูุงูุฑูู ุง ูู ููุฉูุฃููโฌ ููู ูโซุตููููโฌ ููู ูโูโซูู ูุฑุณููโฌ ูู โซุต ูุจุงุญ ููุงู ููุงโฌ ููู ู ูโซูููุงโฌ ู ูโซูููุงูููโฌ ู ูโูโซูููุงู ูู ูุฑุณูููููโู ูู ูู ูุชุญโฌ ูููู ูโูููโซูููุญุจโฌ ูู โซูููุงู ูู ูุฑุณููููโูุฃููููโู ููุงโฌ ููู ูโูโซูููุญุจูููโฌ ู ู โซูู ููุฃูุฎ ูุฐููููโูุงูุฑูู ุง ูู ููุฉู ูุบ ูุฏุงู ูุฑุฌโฌ ู ูโูโซูููุงู ูุนููููููโู ููุฅ ูุฐุงู ููุญู ููโูุจ ูุนูููโู ูู ูู ุงู ููุฑู ุฌูููโู ูู ููุงููุงู ูู ูุฐุงู ูุนูููโู ููุฃูุนู ูุทุงููโู ูุฑุณููโฌ ููู )โซูููุงู ูุนูููููู (ุฑูุงููุงูุจุฎุงุฑูโฌ ููู ูโซุญโฌ ูู โซูููุงู ูุนููููููโู ูู ูุณููู ููู ูุงูุฑูู ุง ูู ููุฉู ูู ูู ูุชโฌ ููู ูโซุตููููโฌ ููู ู ูโซูููุงโฌ Narrated Salamah: Ali happened to stay behind the Prophet (โซ )๏ทบโฌand (did not join him) during the battle of Khaybar for he was having eye trouble. Then he said, "How could I remain behind Allah's Messenger?" So 'Ali set out following the Prophet (โซ)๏ทบโฌ. When it was the eve of the day in the morning of which Allah helped (the Muslims) to conquer it, Allah's Messenger said, "I will give the flag (to a man), or tomorrow a man whom Allah and His Messenger love will take the flag," or said, "A man who loves Allah and His Messenger; and Allah will grant victory under his leadership. "Suddenly came 'Ali whom we did not expect. The people said, "This is 'Ali." Allah's Messenger gave him the flag and Allah

granted victory under his leadership. In another story, Abลซ Nuwฤs when he met suddenly the Caliph Hฤrลซn alRashฤซd he threw the jar of wine he had to the ground and became broken. The Caliph would forgive him if he cited poetry about it.
