Our beneficiaries often come from very challenging backgrounds in which they have had scarce opportunities to find economic prosperity, and this has left them discouraged and hesitant to believe there is a way to overcome their economic woes. That is why Mujeres Autosustentables aims at empowering them every day, by showing them that with discipline, hard work, and dedication they too can overcome their economic obstacles and help their families achieve economic prosperity.

Bertha’s progress during the past few months has become apparent just by looking at the garments she has produced. Starting with very basic garments, Bertha has now progressed to develop intricate and highly refined pieces which she now gives to her family. In the future she will be able to market these pieces which will serve as the main source of income for her household.
