Program: Apparel workshops for women from rural and low income communities in Mexico
Sinaloa Second training session for our group of beneficiaries in Los Mochis and Guasave, Sinaloa. It took place on Thursday, March 31st and Friday, April 1st, 2011, at the local offices of UNIMOSS Sinaloa which were made accessible by the local representatives.

A new model of Social Development centered on Training and Productivity.
By putting together several sets of pants and skirts during this second training session the beneficiaries were able to fully grasp the sewing techniques taught by the instructor; and the knowledge of having been able to complete such tasks helped them reassert themselves as independent women capable of manufacturing their own clothes. Further reinforcing the teachings imparted during our Human Development seminars.

Las capacidades que ya han adquirido las beneficiarias al día de hoy, les permiten confeccionar prendas que representan un gran negocio, tal es el caso del Jumper escolar para Niña así como los demás uniformes escolares.
Al capacitarse trabajando en grupo, las beneficiarias aprenden a reconocer sus habilidades, fortalezas y debilidades permitiéndoles tener una visión clara de las ventajas del trabajo en equipo ¡y ya están hablando de formar un taller comunitario para salir adelante juntas!
Throughout the training session our beneficiaries are taught how to read, sew, and properly utilize a Sewing Pattern, allowing them to fully take advantage of all the beautiful pattern sets that are included in the program. In the future these patterns will become one of the most useful tools in their workshops, since the beneficiaries will be able to create clothing for all different seasons from them.

Throughout the training were able to notice the increased proficiency with which the beneficiaries utilized their sewing machines and assembled their garments. This became evident as we saw the final garments they produced by the end of the day, which they proudly showed to the instructor as proof of progress as Self-Sustaining Women!
