The Vice President’s Message
Greetings Brothers

As we close this chapter of our Fraternal year and embark upon a new one, I would like to continue to thank the members of this general body and executive board for their continued work to build Mu Lambda over the last year.
In last month’s message to the Torch, I personally wanted to thank as many brothers in the house for their work and worth. Each of the brothers in Mu Lambda play an important role in creating the glue that was necessary for us to make it through the battles of the last year and I continue to encourage each brother to continue to invest in our mission to retain a standard of excellence for the chapter and the communities we serve.
As we look forward to the upcoming fraternal year, I am mostly grateful that this brotherhood has seen a future with me remaining in the position as Vice President. This responsibility is one that I do not take lightly as I work diligently to create an important balance of BROTHERHOOD and BUSINESS! As large and diverse of a chapter that we are, our goal has to be to create a space for balancing our desires.
BROTHERHOOD: I lean heavily on this concept for the chapter as we create a safe haven for brothers to shake hands, exchange greetings and depart friends. Though we all come from different experiences in our life journey, when we come together we must find the common grounds to bond with each member of the chapter. Summer is around the corner and I will be proposing a few brotherhood smokes, barbecues, block clean ups, city rides, motorcycle meetups, gun range gatherings and other social outings that will encourage the brotherly bond that creates the life long investments to Mu Lambda and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.
BUSINESS: We have been a chapter that has invested heavily on conducting the business of the fraternity and there will be no fractures in this mission. From Education to the Mu Lambda Foundation, We are charged with creating and fulfilling service and advocacy to the community and in this upcoming year as we take strides toward MidTerm elections and other important changes in the way that we interact with the multiple business arms of our chapter, I would like to bolster the support that is necessary to get the job done!
Many hands make for light work, so I want to continue to encourage Brotherhood in business and Business in brotherhood. We have many opportunities to continue to build this chapter beyond its current status. I am happy to play an integral part in seeing us through these moments - In Service and Fraternal Uplift!
Fraternally,
Brother Mikael LaRoche, Vice-President Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Mu Lambda Chapter
