Congratulations to Mu Lambda Brother Malcolm Carter, (Beta 1987), who was featured in the 2023 Issue 1 of The Voice of Domino’s Franchisees. In the article Brother Malcolm Carter President of South Marlboro Pizza and Marlboro Pizza shared his journey and keys to success of building his business to one of a limited number of African American owned Domino’s franchises. Brother Carter started with Domino’s 33 years ago in 1990 after graduation from Howard University where he managed a store in District Heights MD. Brother Carter a natural, intelligent and gifted business man quickly rose through the ranks of the local Domino’s organizations being a significant contributor and learning the business.

After 11 years, in 2001, Brother Carter was presented with an opportunity to be a franchise owner and the rest is history. In 2005 Domino’s corporate organization sold Brother Carter three stores in recognition of his successful stewardship of three stores he owned since 2001. In 2017 Brother Carter expanded his business buying two stores from Team Washington, with one of the stores being the store where his Domino’s journey began in District Heights MD. Today Brother Carter has been a franchisee for 22 years, owning 8 stores with a team of 220 members supported by a staff of 8 managers.

In the article Brother Carter shared what animates him – Family. His immediate family wife Limin, daughters Jazmine, Jozslyne and Vivian, and his mom Mrs. Carter. Also his adopted family of the Brotherhood of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. From the article “I’m heavily involved with my Fraternity Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. The objective of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, is to stimulate the ambition of its members; prepare them for the greatest usefulness in the cause of humanity, freedom, and dignity of the individual; to encourage the highest and noblest form of manhood; and to aid downtrodden humanity in its efforts to achieve higher social, economic, and intellectual status”.
