From the initial idea, to placement behind the ear of the hearing system wearer, takes some time. However, once the starting signal for the prototype has gone off, it takes 12-18 months to achieve readiness for series production. At the prototype workshop of the hearing system manufactury, work is carried out with much skill and perseverance until the new development satisfies the high standards of HANSATON best-sellers.

Originating from Connexx-Fit, NALNL2 and experience from hearing care professionals, XpressFit provides easy fitting for the dispenser, at the same time spontaneous acceptance and long term benefit for the end user. XpressFit takes into account individuals amplification needs, by using new compression system with two CKs and two CRs, thereby ensuring that soft sounds are audible, average sounds are optimal and loud sounds are comfortable, for any hearing loss. Additionally extended multichannel MPO system ensures better match to frequency dependent UCL values, making sure that loud sounds are comfortable. To ensure spontaneous acceptance and comfort, XpressFit sets the relevant adaptive features to the necessary steps. Speech can be accurately reproduced in the user‘s dynamic range thanks to the 18 channels offered. It is possible to achieve an individual loudness balance for every type of hearing loss, in which soft sounds are audible, average sounds are optimal and loud sounds are comfortable. The user‘s dynamic range can be optimally utilized, since the AGCo takes into account the frequency-specific uncomfortable levels and loud signals remain comfortable with every type of hearing loss. This is of great significance, especially for first-time users and very sensitive customers.

Regardless of whether speech reaches the wearer from the front, the side, or the back, the automatic microphone system is capable of adapting to any environment to improve speech comprehension and optimize sound quality. Improved, multichannel microphone system can focus on speech, suppress interfering, moving noise sources and improve localization.

The hearing system analyzes, identifies, and classifies hearing situations: Use of a Wiener filter, estimation of the frequency-dependent signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), channel-specific identification of the percentage of stationary noise in the input signal, inaudible alternation between the individual systems within milliseconds.

Situation Optimizer and Acclimatization Manager:

Optimal result, intelligently prepared. XearA technology offers improved reliability, accuracy and speed when identifying diverse situations. The Situation Optimizer generates optimum speech intelligibility and the best possible hearing comfort with an optimized frequency response and optimum amplification for every hearing situation, without the need for adjustments in program or volume.

Acclimatization Manager. First-time wearers often perceive their hearing instruments as too loud or uncomfortable, which may lead them to reject the hearing instruments. The Acclimatization Manager slowly increases gain over a specific period of time until the selected target is reached. During acclimatization, the frequency response is continuously changed and the user’s behavior is also taken into account. If the user raises or lowers the volume multiple times, the acclimatization is speeded up or slowed down respectively, since it is presumed that the user wishes for a stronger or weaker amplification (Intelligent Acclimatization Manager**).

The core of the charging technology is the processor implemented in the hearing system.

It shuts off the hearing system in the charging station, regulates the charging current for charging the battery and also controls an infrared diode which is needed for communication between the hearing system and the charging station. The information sent is received by an infrared receiver in the charging station and presented by a microprocessor on the charging station‘s display. The entire communication and charging process are carried out wirelessly and thus entirely without fragile galvanic connections between the charging station and hearing system. After the 200th charging cycle, a “wrench“ service symbol will appear on the charging station‘s display, indicating to the customer that a service appointment with a hearing system professional is recommended. Battery defects are also displayed and the charging process will be stopped.

The tinnitus phenomenon. Most people are familiar with it: Noise that does not come from outside, but rather appears to originate inside the ear - tinnitus, ringing in the ear. In most cases, it disappears as quickly as it appeared. Sometimes, however, it doesnâ&#x20AC;&#x2DC;t. Tinnitus is one of the most complex conditions in medical practice since its physical origins are very diverse. Tinnitus may be caused by skull or brain injuries, acoustic shock, or functional disorders of the cervical spine or the temporomandibular joint, just as much as it may be caused by metabolic disorders, arteriosclerotic changes in older patients or, in rare isolated cases, by tumors on the auditory nerve or in the middle ear. An examination by diverse specialists is thus necessary. When the relevant findings become available, the appropriate therapies must be initiated.

Individual Solutions for Tinnitus and Hearing Loss.

The goal of classic treatment methods for acute tinnitus is healing the suspected inner ear disorder by increasing the oxygen supply to the organ. When recovery or alleviation, at the least, are not achieved with such therapy, chronic tinnitus often develops and disturbing ear ringing becomes irreversible. Very often, ringing in the ears appears at the same time as other hearing disturbances. These include both hearing difficulty as well as increased hypersensitivity to noise (hyperacusis). A majority of those affected get used to the â&#x20AC;&#x17E;side noisesâ&#x20AC;&#x153; in time and find a way to come to terms with them. In others, however, tinnitus leads to a serious impairment in their quality of life. It leads to sleeping disorders, acute stress and fear reactions, depression, and often to a decrease in professional capabilities. In summary, it can be said that tinnitus and its consequences are highly complex phenomena that can generally only be overcome interdisciplinarily.

The term tinnitus is Latin and is the participle of the verb “tinnire”. Its literal translation is: ringing or jingling. About 400 causes are known today, which may trigger tinnitus. Among other things the Training Center offers trainings and challenges for employees, a great opportunity of communication between business partners and master classes for acousticians. The team of trainers will consist of HANSATON specialists and external trainers. The subjects include all areas of expertise from technology to marketing, sales and management.
