What are they? •Piles, also known as hemorrhoids, are swollen veins and muscle around your anus or in your anal canal. Your anal canal is a short, muscular tube with blood vessels that connects your rectum (back passage) with your anus. Piles can develop when this tissue becomes swollen, possibly as a result of straining on the toilet. Sometimes, piles can be painful and bleed if they become damaged. •Piles are also common during and after pregnancy. They may develop due to changes in the hormones (chemicals) in your body and the increased pressure in your abdomen (tummy), although doctors aren't sure. They usually get better once your baby is born.
1: Internal Piles : Internal piles are usually not painful but these bleed when they are irritated such as during the passage of hard stools. They can be classified into four grades: 2: External Piles: External piles present as a swelling outside the anus. Its create irritation and itching. These can be painful sometimes and usually do not bleed.
Internal hemorrhoids are classified into four grades: Grade 1 - there are small inflammations, usually inside the lining of the anus. They are not visible Grade 2 - larger than grade 1 hemorrhoids, but also inside the anus. When passing a stool, they may get pushed out, but return unaided Grade 3 - often called 'prolapsed hemorrhoids'; these appear outside the anus. The patient may feel them hanging out. They can be pushed back in if the patient presses with their finger Grade 4 - these cannot be pushed back in and need to be treated by a doctor. They are large and stay outside the anus all the time.
External hemorrhoids are called perianal hematoma. These are small lumps that are located on the outside edge of the anus. They are very itchy and can be painful if a blood clot forms inside (thrombosed external hemorrhoid). Thrombosed external hemorrhoid requires medical treatment straight away.
Causes of Piles: These include the following: Genetic predisposition (weak rectal veins, walls) Poor muscle tone in the rectal region Constipation Obesity Sedentary lifestyle Chronic cough Pregnancy Overuse of laxatives or enemas Lifting heavy weights habitually
Symptoms vary depending upon the site of piles, duration of complaints and general health of the person. Protrusion of piles outside the anus; this usually occurs after defecation, prolonged standing or unusual physical exertion Bleeding from the anus: This can occur before, during or after stools. This will be bright red blood, not usually mixed with the stools, but often seen on the toilet paper.
Soreness, pain, itching in the anal region Bleeding from anus after passing a
stool Pains like burning , soreness during and after passing stool. A lumps hanging down outside the anus which may need to push back after passing a stool. Sensation of something coming down, or a bulge or lump at the anus
Treating Piles - Why surgery is not advisable? At the point when one has been determined to have piles, the following evident thing that comes into one's psyche is its treatment. The main treatment for piles or hemorrhoids that is offered by Allopathy is the surgical alternative. There is no other treatment in allopathy. The greater part of the patients are apprehensive or careful about completing a surgery. There are a few impediments of this surgical alternative. Surgery is lumbering and costly too. In the meantime, the very reason for surgery is lost when this issue repeats after some season of completing surgery. Now and again, individuals don't know about the likelihood of piles being dealt with in some other way and wind up completing surgery. They don't glance around or make an inquiry or two for different potential outcomes ie option or corresponding treatment for piles. It is just later when the issue repeats that they lament their choice of completing surgery and begin searching for a few choices. Surgery is not generally advised. But in allopathy there is chance of reoccurrence also after surgery if the cause does not rectified or modified
Who gets piles? Piles can occur at any age, but are more common in older people. They affect both men and women. In fact, most people suffer from piles at some time, but usually they are nothing more than a temporary problem. Many experts believe that they are caused by continuous high pressure in the veins of the body, which occurs because humans stand upright. They are particularly common in pregnancy because of the additional pressure from the baby, and because of hormonal changes. Sometimes they result from straining hard to pass faces, which is more likely if you do not eat enough fiber, or lifting heavy weights. They are not caused by sitting on hot radiators or cold, hard surfaces, or by sedentary jobs. A family history, as with many other health-related problems, is frequently found and is likely to be a significant risk factor for developing piles.
How do I know it’s just piles? Piles often cause bleeding, but the blood tends to be on the paper or the pan, or on the edge of your stool. It tends to be bright red and you may also pass mucus. The bleeding of piles is often linked to pain, itching or soreness just inside your bottom or on the skin around it. You may also notice a lump protruding from your bottom. One kind of pile (called an external pile or perianal haematoma) can cause a sudden, intensely painful lump just outside your anus. The pain usually settles on its own within 2-3 days, but if you catch it early your doctor may be able to remove the blood and relieve the pain.
Homeopathic medicines are very highly effective in management of piles and the symptoms associated with it such as pain, bleeding, itching, etc. The point to be emphasized is that the relief of symptoms is obtained with absolute gentleness and without invasion or surgery of any kind.
