Five Reasons to Install CCTV

How well does your cHild grow ?

Your family’s safety and security at home are of the utmost importance. By making use of certain security features such as CCTV cameras, you are not only improving the home itself, but also the comfort of your family. Below are five reasons why your home needs a CCTV system.

The Pre & Teen mattress is ideal for sleepers of any age and size and this is what makes it unique.

Keeping the bad guys away. Knowing that you have a CCTV system in place gives you peace of mind that your home is being monitored and well protected from thieves, vandals and intruders even when you’re away from home at the office or on vacation. Keeping an eye on the kids or elderly family members. It’s always nice to have another set of eyes on your children as well as your ageing parents when they’re home alone. Adding remote video will allow you to log in and check up on them from your office computer, smartphone or tablet. Increase employee safety and honesty: Installing CCTV is one simple way of keeping your employees, such as domestic workers and babysitters, safe. Reduces home insurance costs. This is an easier way to save money on your home insurance. As a home owner with insurance, it’s important to invest in certain measures to avoid expensive insurance premiums. A dependable indoor or outdoor surveillance system assures your insurance provider that you’re taking the necessary steps to protect your home from theft.

International Epilepsy Day

International Epilepsy Day is a special event which promotes awareness of epilepsy in more than 120 countries each year. Every year, on the second Monday of February, people join together to celebrate and highlight the problems faced by people with epilepsy, their families and carers.

This is a day for everyone, no matter where you are, no matter how small your group or large your area, no matter whether you focus on the medical or the social aspects of the disease. Help celebrate International Epilepsy Day and let’s speak with one global voice. Epilepsy affects 1 in 100 people in South Africa. There are 50 million people living with epilepsy globally. Epilepsy is a neurological condition that is characterised by unusual electrical activity in the brain, causing unprovoked seizures. It is not a psychological disorder or illness and it is not contagious. The brain is made up of billions of nerve cells or neurons that communicate through electrical and chemical signals.

When there is a sudden excessive electrical discharge that disrupts the normal activity of the nerve cells, a seizure may result. There are quite a few misconceptions about the condition that inhibits an improved quality of life for a person with epilepsy. Some of these misconceptions are that people living with epilepsy: • Can’t excel at things that require physical or intellectual work, such as sport • Should be treated differently • Have epilepsy because someone did something wrong • Are bewitched For most people with epilepsy, the biggest problem they have to face is other people’s attitudes to epilepsy. What people with epilepsy need most is understanding and acceptance from the public. For more information contact 0860 EPILEPSY, info@epilepsy.org.za or visit www.epilepsy.org.za.
