Envisioning Transit spaces as Public Places.
`To attempt an integrated approach for the development of a metro station in the city of Pune (developing city with upcoming metro infrastructure) with a public space that relates to cultural identity and a centre for community, using the principles of placemaking.'
Transit spaces are becoming extremely important in metropolitan cities today, used by thousands of people daily, and we should look at these spaces as opportunities for the wholesome development of the city in the form of public spaces that are accessible and can engage the local people in an array of activities.
This project aims to holistically develop the site and surroundings of a metro station so that it becomes a multi faceted public space which is easily accessible by all.
