This portfolio contains selected (architectural) projects of Murat Imamoglu. The booklet consists of different chapters for each selected project, showing the most important parts of them. The portfolio ends with a few pages of mixed material by me to give an impression of my abilities. Many of the projects in this portfolio are also available on my personal website. A culinary school in the heart of the rive gauche with a series of spaces that would engage people walking by, the curious visitors, the students and staff, each in their own way, thereby celebrating the miracle that is the French kitchen. The university becomes an important part of the Parisian society, inspiring people about food. The architecture of the building helped modern architecture overcome the trauma it is and to redeem something of the damage many modern buildings have inflicted upon historic city centres.

is a research on how to justly design for all users of this heterotopic building that creates a huge discussion in the Netherlands. Not only the appearance of usual mosques are introverted, but also the social, cultural and political aspects. Beauty and perfect geometry are the key to let mosque designs be admired by all users in society.

The question this project creates is “How can the different architectures be combined?�. The program asks for different number of ideas, places and atmospheres. This house is the elaboration for one of the households on the site. The five elements air, fire, light, soil and water are the different atmospheres. This conceptual design shows how differences could be handled by a minimalistic approach, without creating a chaotic building.

A
multidisciplinary
project
between
architecture,
construction, building pyhsics and real estate. The project is located at a raised railway, which is not in use anymore in Rotterdam. This mixed-use design gives space for crafters on the ground floor under the railway. An exposition space is designed on the railway and inside the atrium. Housing is designed on the floors above with both inside and outside which creates a huge social control.
