Many regions across North America have their own 'fire hose' thread, making procurement a difficult and time-consuming process. Dixon® can provide any special city thread configuration in brass within one week. Call for pricing and availability.

Q - How do I order my customer's thread part?

A - Here is a sample part number with descriptions to help explain our numbering system: HA253.06x815F.

Q - Do I have to order a minimum quantity?

A - We will take orders of a single piece to thousands of pieces. The set-up fee will be amortized over the quantity.

Q - In what materials are customer thread adapters available?

A - We specialize in manufacturing brass adapters; however, the aluminum configurations will have various lead times.

Q - How can you supply brass customer thread adapters in one week's time?

A - We have tooling specifically designated for various threads, and we have castings standing by for machining, gauges for testing and hydro-static test facilities for testing. We are ready to delight the customer with the fastest lead time in the business on many popular configurations we build to stock.

Q - Do you have other products with customer threads?

A - Yes. We offer many products with region-specific threads, and many are shown in the catalog. If you don't see what you need, please let us know and we can possibly manufacture it.

Q - Can Dixon make custom threads?

A - Yes, if you are able to supply the maximum outside diameter measurement and the threads per inch, we will gladly make the products for you.

1 National Form Thread. Abbreviation for tapered iron pipe thread is TIPT or NPT (National Pipe Tapered).

Fire Threads

Within North America there are many regional fire threads, the most popular being the "NST" (or "NH") thread, which is the predominant USA fire thread. The NST thread is sometimes used in Canada, especially in sizes 3" and larger.

Within Canada, the most common threads used for fire applications are:

• 1", 1-1/2" and 2" sizes use NPS (National Pipe Straight) thread

• 2-1/2" each region uses different threads; please see the table below

• 3" and larger - NST threads are often used

Before ordering, please confirm the type of thread required. Thread requirements vary by region.
