ANNUAL PULLING FOR KIDS CLAY TOURNAMENT

CASA of Denton County is hosting their 20th Annual Pulling for Kids Clay Sporting Clay Tournament on June 25th! BIKE WITH THE BLUE

The Flower Mound Police Department will hold the inaugural Bike with the Blue 5K Run and Bike Race in Lakeside DFW on Saturday, May 15! COMMON SENSE DISTRICT

Common Sense, a non-profit dedicated to helping families and educators navigate a digital world, has recognized Lewisville ISD as a Common Sense District! LISD is one of 63 districts across the country considered a Common Sense District and achieved this distinction with their commitment to teaching and emphasizing the importance of digital citizenship. TEXAS TO FULLY FUND SCHOOL DISTRICTS

Texas will fully fund school districts that have seen student attendance drop during the pandemic so long as they maintain or increase the rate of students learning in person. Texas funds its public schools based on the number of students who attend (in person or virtually) so this is news that school superintendents have been waiting for months! Great news for our schools!

HIGHLAND VILLAGE ART FESTIVAL

May 1 | 10am - 6pm | The Shops at Highland Village

Come check out the Highland Village Art Festival where you can view displays from over 30 gallery-quality artists, artist demonstrations, live music and entertainment, and interactive children’s art activities. WICKED BOLD COMING SOON!

Wicked BOLD is a vegan chocolate shop and will be coming to Flower Mound this April to 3343 Long Prairie Road! Their chocolates are handmade here in Texas and use organic and ethically sourced cacao from Belize. They will also be offering plant-based charcuterie and non-alcoholic spirits and wine mixed with simple syrups and housemade tinctures. BOXED LUNCHES FOR STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK

Marcus High PTSA will be facilitating boxed lunch and other goods for Marcus staff during Staff Appreciation week! Staff Appreciation week is from May 3rd to May 7th. LISD OUTDOOR LEARNING AREA ALMOST READY

Construction on the new LISD Outdoor Learning Area (LISDOLA) has made great progress this year, with the finish line coming closer each day! This learning facility will feature both outdoor and indoor spaces for students to get a unique, hands-on learning experience, concentrating on environmental learning.
