Count Your
BLESSINGS
A
good friend of mine was just telling me about a powerful moment during one of his Denton County small-business networking meetings. As the group slowly went around
the room sharing a little bit about their respective companies, a quiet but very nice dent-repair guy stood up and mentioned that he had moved here years ago from Ukraine. It was clearly his first time to be at a networking meeting, and despite a slight language barrier, he did his best to explain who he was, what he did, and how he could help everyone in the room. Before he could finish, this exchange happened: “I’m sorry to interrupt,” a guest on the other side of the room said. “Did you say you’re from Ukraine?” “Ummm. Yes. Yes, I am.” “Well … I stand with Ukraine. We all do.” The entire room erupted with support for this young man, who undoubtedly was trying to make a living here in America while still being worried about relatives back home in his war-torn country. Even if you’re currently living under a rock, you know what’s going on over there. I won’t go into detail, but the bottom line is that it is very sad. And over the past few weeks, practically the entire nation has come together to support Ukrainians near and far. Regardless of what we all have going on in our lives and which side of the fence we are on politically, religiously, etc., we should all be counting our blessings for the peace we do have here in the United States. Furthermore, we should all be standing for and sending our prayers to the innocent men, women, and children in Ukraine. On behalf of my team at Murray Media, we, too, stand with Ukraine. Thanks for reading this month’s issue!

he founders of the Advanced Pain Institute of Texas, Dr. John Broadnax and Dr. Eric Anderson, are passionate
about providing their patients with world-class, top-of-the-line pain care within an encouraging and educational environment. Before founding the Advanced Pain Institute of Texas, Dr. Anderson and Dr. Broadnax worked together at a pain management practice in Chicago. Dr. Broadnax attended medical school at Johns Hopkins School of medicine and, after completing his residency and pain fellowship at Harvard Medical School, he began practicing in Chicago and was elected to the Board of Directors
of the Illinois Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. Dr. Anderson began his career in Chicago after completing the prestigious pain fellowship at Texas Tech University. It didn’t take long for Dr. Anderson to be nominated for the “Chicago’s Top Doc” award. He also served on multiple committees of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. Both doctors bonded very quickly over their passion for providing hope and restoring health through comprehensive, interventional pain care as well as sharing a value and vision for providing quality patient care. Dr. Broadnax and Dr. Anderson both had a vision and a dream of founding a practice that offered cutting-edge, minimally invasive care of musculoskeletal, spine, and nerve-related pain in a

decision. Dr. Broadnax grew up in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex while Dr. Anderson fell in love with Texas during his medical training here. The doctors quickly began the laborious task of building their practice and bringing the new clinic to fruition and in December of 2017, the doors to the Advanced Pain Institute of Texas were ready to open. Anderson were meticulous in identifying the building blocks for both doctors as the foundation of their practice, the focus on patients and patient education would end up functioning as their most critical cornerstone. With those characteristics put into place, everything else would seamlessly fall into place. “Everything we do is for the patients. We focus on compassion, positivity, and kindness while helping patients navigate their way through the various treatment pathways to improve their function, minimize their pain, and maximize their quality of life,” Dr. Broadnax said. “We’ve come so far since we started working together in Chicago,” Dr. Anderson said. “And we’ve continued moving forward ever since we opened the Advanced Pain Institute of Texas. It’s incredible when we take the time to realize just how far we have come and not only the impact we’ve made on the community, but the impact this community has made on us.” Founded on values, vision, and a dream, the Advanced Pain Institute of Texas has truly made a difference
