BAGS TO BENCHES

Lake Dallas is getting a Bags to Benches program! Meaning, for every 500 pounds of bags collected in a 6 month period, Lake Dallas will be receiving a park bench for FREE made from recycled materials! There is now a drop box at Lake Dallas City Hall where you can bring all your unused plastic bags from the grocery store. This program is a win, win!

LAKE CITIES 4TH OF JULY

The Lake Cities 4th of July celebration will be on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at the Lake Dallas City Park, starting at 9am! This event will kick off with a parade followed by food, contests, vendors, and live music, ending with a dazzling fireworks display. Admission is FREE and live music will feature performances by Eleven Hundred Springs, The Special Edition, and Little Elmo & The Mambo Kings.

4TH GRADERS HELP OCL

Shady Shore Elementary School teacher Amy Koch has been working hard on the school’s outdoor learning center (OCL) which is a huge project. One day when she was out for the day, fourth-grade classes took it upon themselves to help Amy by working on the outdoor learning center to help progress her further! FLUTTERBY GARDEN STEPPING STONES

Lake Dallas Middle School students painted stepping stones to create a path at Flutterby Garden at Lake Dallas City Park. The path they created with these stones goes between the plants and flowers giving you a place to walk. Flutterby Garden is a natvie, pollinator-friendly garden where visitors can scan a barcode on the sign for information on the plants you’ll see while walking through the garden. photo courtesy of Lake Dallas ISD

INDEPENDENCE FEST

Independence Fest 2021 will take place on Sunday, July 4 at Bakersfield Park! This year’s event will be FREE with live music, a kid’s zone, a car show, local vendors, food trucks, and a firework finale. Live music will feature performances by Le Freak and Josh Abbott Band. CORINTH BOARD & COMMISSION APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN

Provide for our community by volunteering to serve on the City of Corinth Board & Commission. Board & Commission members play a vital role in advising the City Council and City Management on recommending policies and strategic planning. FREE SUMMER MEALS FOR LAKE DALLAS ISD

Lake Dallas ISD will continue to offer free breakfast and lunch until July 1st at Lake Dallas Elementary School. This program will run from Monday - Thursday, with breakfast from 7:30 - 9am, and lunch from 11an - 12:30pm. Meals can be picked up curbside, outside of the cafeteria in the drive-through bus lane. DENTON ISD WEBSITE NOW IN SPANISH, TOO!

In Denton ISD, 16.2% of students are enrolled in dual language and ELL programs and the need for clear and concise communication is more important than ever. Therefore, Denton ISD created a Spanish version of the district’s website to help navigate the site more easily in Spanish speakers’ native language!
