BATTERY BUCKETS THOUSAND HILLS CHURCH Thousand Hills Church has become the new owners of the AMC Movie Theater in Hickory Creek. They are asking for donations to begin rehab so they can turn this building into a thriving church for their community. They’re outgrowing their current location and are hoping to raise $1.5 million by December 22. The City of Corinth has partnered with the Community Waste Disposal to offer a Battery Recycling program! This will make it possible for residents to easily recycle used batteries to help keep our water and landfills clean. FIELD TRIP COORDINATOR RON HARMON Lake Dallas ISD’s February Featured Falcon was Ron Harmon! Ron has served as a bus driver and field trip coordinator for LDISD for 12 years. Ron and his wife had made it their mission to give children in need a home and have fostered 89 children since 1971. Most people are retired by his age, but he won’t retire unless he has to, he loves what he does! LAKE DALLAS ELEMENTARY STUDENTS HELP YOUNGER CLASSMATES Lake Dallas Elementary fifth-graders are helping first-graders via Zoom through the Reading Buddies program! Each fifth-grader has his or her own first-grade buddy to work with and help to improve their reading skills. Teachers have noticed how patient the students are and their willingness to cooperate with each other.
