ANNUAL LCEF MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
Save the date for the 20th Annual Lake Cities Education Foundation Memorial Golf Tournament will be at Oakmont Country Club again this year on June 7! DENTON ISD PARTNERS WITH STOPIT
Denton ISD partnered with STOPit, a leading technology reporting platform for schools that deters harmful or inappropriate conduct. STOPit empowers students to stand up for themselves and others while giving our schools the insight we need to keep students and staff safe. Students can download the easy-to-use STOPit app which allows them to report safely and anonymously anything of concern to school officials.
In partnership with the district, local businesses, and community leaders, the Denton Public School Foundation awarded $133,118 in scholarships and classroom grants to 163 Denton ISD teacher and staff members across 38 campuses. VOLUNTEERS PLANT 20 TREES
Keep Lake Dallas Beautiful volunteers planted 20 trees in less than 90 minutes! You can see the difference this made by visiting City Park and Community Park. Shout out to the Keep Lake Dallas Beautiful supporters, volunteers, and sponsors including, Lake Dallas ISD students, City Council members, and Adopt-a-Shop volunteers.
LAKE DALLAS BUSINESS ORDINANCES
Lake Dallas City Council members recently voted to suspend provisions to the City’s sign ordinance. The goal of this is to help local businesses better advertise in an effort to overcome this year and last year’s hardships like loss of revenue due to COVID-19 and Texas’s recent winter storm. COACH LEFTWICH RECEIVES TEACHER OF THE MONTH AT CHAMBER LUNCHEON
At September’s Lake Cities Chamber of Commerce Luncheon, Coach Spencer Leftwich received the Teacher of the Month. Coach Leftwich always goes above and beyond and is willing to step in when needed, which makes this awarded title so well deserved. Coach Leftwich is known for his heart to serve and will do whatever is necessary to help better his Falcon family.
LDISD EARNS DISTRICT OF DISTINCTION AWARD
For the third consecutive year, the Lake Dallas Independent School District was honored with the District of Distinction award by the Texas Art Education Association. District of Distinction is an annual recognition program created by Texas Art Education Association and run by the Administration and Supervision division to honor school districts that are proven leaders in the visual arts.
