NEW JUDGE OF COUNTY CRIMINAL COURT #1

The Denton County Commissioners has appointed Lauri Ragland to be the Judge of County Criminal Court #1. This is a dream come true for Lauri and she can’t wait to serve her community. The main duties of this position are to handle misdemeanor-level and felony-level criminal matters in Denton County. BEST LITTLE BREWFEST

Best Little Brewfest is a 100% charity beer festival that features over 70 craft breweries with some wine and ciders included. This event is scheduled for Saturday, October 16 to take advantage of the cooler weather. LOCAL PUPS RAISE FUNDS FOR LEF

During Camp Bow Wow’s seasonal Picture Day these adorable pups solicited donations from their owners to fundraise for Lewisville ISD Education Foundation (LEF). The donations raised by Camp Bow Wow in Flower Mound are going towards providing backpacks and school supplies for the annual Back to School Fair. LEWISVILLE ISD AWARDED $104,100

The Lewisville ISD Education Foundation (LEF) had the pleasure of awarding 64 teacher grants to 40 Lewisville ISD schools totaling $104,100! ANNUAL UNITY LUNCHEON

There was a fantastic turnout at the Annual Unity Luncheon with the Flower Mound Chamber of Commerce, Lewisville Chamber of Commerce, and the Highland Village Business Association. Over 300 people gathered to honor local non-profits and to congratulate Could 9 Charities on being named 2020 Nonprofit of the Year! LOCAL MAYORS COOK FOR CHARITIES

Lewisville Mayor TJ Gilmore, Flower Mound Mayor Derek France, and Highland Village Mayor Charlotte Wilcox put their culinary skills to test in a competition for the Best Pizza Making Mayor in southern Denton County to raise money for local charities. Each mayor was assigned a local charity to promote and the winning mayor would determine which charity the proceeds donated would go to. Flower Mound Mayor Derek France ended up winning meaning his charity Journey to Dream was awarded the proceeds!

EVENING FOR EDUCATION

You’re invited to the 2nd Annual LEF Week celebration which ends with one of the community’s biggest outdoor parties - Evening for Education! On Sunday, October 10 enjoy a musical concert at Grandscape’s state-of-the-art stage and lawn while sampling entrees and desserts from incredible local restaurants. Guests will have the chance to interact with some of Lewisville ISD’s most incredible education programs. You may even bring home an extravagant auction prize from the silent auction!

LISD ATHLETIC DIRECTOR RETIRES

After more than 40 years in public education and the last 7 at Lewisville ISD, longtime athletic director Tim Ford has announced his retirement, effective December 2021. Since Ford took over the athletic department the district has won 12 team state championships, 15 team state medals, and 17 individual state championships!
