Since 1926, Musco Food has imported and distributed the finest foods of the Mediterranean and beyond. Flavorful cheese, mouthwatering charcuterie and carefully curated dry goods have filled the racks of our warehouse for nearly one century. Musco Food is a family-owned and family-run company – while we’re proud of our long heritage, we’re not ones to rest on our laurels. We add hundreds of new products to our portfolio every year and are constantly looking for better ways to serve our customers. You may wonder, what is this pattern about? Musco Food has been around for nearly one century – 92 years to be exact. For our recent rebrand, we delved into our historic paperwork, and chose to celebrate the colorful and whimsical postage marks, logos & stamps of our early importing years. We hope you’ll find them as delightful as we do.

The Filippo Musco & Sons adventure begins in Sicily, Italy. Local cheeses were purchased from farmers, aged and cured, then distributed throughout Italy.

Sensing opportunities in the New World, part of the Musco family emigrates to the United States. Musco & Company is officially founded in 1926, importing Italian cheeses and other specialty Italian foods. A Musco store opens its doors in New York’s vibrant little Italy.

2010

Phil Musco and his brother Joe step into the family business. They move the Musco Warehouse to Maspeth, Queens to accomodate more products. Special thanks to cousin Dr. Carmelo Cannone who helped procure many of the true Italian cheeses.

Musco Foods retires its historic brand “Amastra” to launch Vantia, a private label brand focused on high quality Italian cheese and salumi. Vantia becomes a household name throughout the northeast of the United States.

Specialty foods enjoy a renaissance in the U.S. The Musco Food product portfolio expands to include specialty cheese and charcuterie from France, Spain, Holland and beyond, as well as specialty packaged foods such as organic & gluten-free pantry items.

Bolstered by a vibrant Italian-American community, Lucio Musco's Musco & Co prospers and expands its product selection. The company opens a warehouse in lower Manhattan to service its growing customer base of delis and mom & pop shops.

A fresh new look and website is rolled out to better reflect what Musco Food is today. We'd like to thank all of our loyal, dedicated family members, employees, customers, and suppliers for their many years of support and bringing us to this point. Here's to another century.

A reference among deli and restaurant owners, Sicuro offers high quality domestic cheese products. Crafted in the United States, these provolone, parmesans and muensters offer a characteristic old-world flavor at a competitive price.

A Modern Warehouse & Truck Fleet • All orders are picked with digital scanners, reducing the risks of picking errors and ensuring full product traceability. • Our 75,000 sq. ft. warehouse features 2 climate warehouses, 2 loading docks and 6 dock doors, and is HACCP-Certified for seafood. • Our fleet of 15+ trucks is large enough to service the entire NY Northeast territory, including New England.
