Year-End Giving

Give to the Annual Fund Today— Receive a 2020 Tax Deduction

In this season of giving, a contribution to the Museum of New Mexico Foundation’s Annual Fund is one of the most meaningful gifts you can make. Your tax-deductible donation for 2020 will help the Foundation provide essential support services for our 13 partner institutions. However you give, these suggestions will assist you in meeting the December 31 deadline:

Check: Envelopes must be postmarked by December 31, 2020, to qualify as a 2020 gift. The legal date is the date your gift is postmarked, not the check date.

Credit Card: The date the charge clears is the legal gift date, not the date the charge is submitted. Stock: In the case of a direct transfer, the legal gift date is the transfer date, not the date a broker is requested to make the transfer.

To make a gift, call 505.982.6366 ext. 100 or visit museumfoundation.org.

Grants Fuel FY2020

Over a dozen institutional funders—private, state and federal—awarded grants totaling more than $722,500 in FY2020 (July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020) to divisions supported by the Museum of New Mexico Foundation. Here are just a few highlights: The New Mexico Museum of Art received a very generous grant from the Wyncote Foundation to restore the newly-named Frederick R. Haas pipe organ in the museum’s Saint Francis Auditorium. An anonymous donor made a significant award to the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture to support the revitalization of its signature permanent exhibition Here, Now and Always. Barbro Osher Pro Suecia Foundation provided key funds for the planning and implementation of the exhibition Dressing with Purpose: Belonging and Resistance in Scandinavia at the Museum of International Folk Art.

The BNSF Railway Foundation awarded the New Mexico History Museum a grant for Working on the Railroad, an exhibition celebrating nearly 100 years of the state’s railroad history. The Office of Archaeological Studies received a grant from the Santa Fe Community Foundation for its award-winning educational outreach program. The Museum of New Mexico Foundation thanks these and all of our institutional funders for their generous support of the Museum of New Mexico system.

The Foundation Digital Membership Card

The Museum of New Mexico Foundation’s new digital membership card program, set to launch in early 2021, will put the benefits of membership— from free entry to the museums and historic sites to a 10% discount at the Museum Shops and Museum Hill Café—at your fingertips. “A digital membership card gives members a convenient way to take advantage of your favorite member benefits,” says Mariann Lovato, the Foundation’s director of membership and communications. “Digital cards will allow the Foundation to better serve our members, with plans in the works to offer a green option for paperless communication and contactless entry at the museums and historic sites.” Digital membership cards will be sent to all active members via email with a link to download your new cards to Apple Wallet on iPhone or Wallet Pass on Android devices. To provide your current email address, visit: www.museumfoundation.org/member-help/.

The cards are the first of many digital enhancements to come from the Foundation. In the coming months, additional digital offerings will provide an enriched membership experience.
