With thirteen years of experience in double bass performance, Gutierrez furthered his skills under Thomas Derthick and Kathryn Schulmeister at Pacific. He has also worked under Jeff Crawford in the Owen Studio as a teaching assistant and in the recording studio. After graduation, Gutierrez hopes to embark on a career in education with the ultimate goal of facilitating high-quality, equitable access to music education for all students.
