In-Depth: Like its cousin, the Jazzmaster®, the Fender® Jaguar found new life from the mid-1970s onward among gifted and innovative guitarists who prized it for its shorter scale, tonal versatility and sheer individuality. A popular modification was to swap out its singlecoil pickups for humbucking pickups that delivered thicker, more powerful sound. That modern tonal tradition is built into Fender’s new Blacktop Jaguar HH guitar. Sleek and supercharged, it’s powered by a pair of over-wound alnico humbucking pickups for heavy high-gain tone. Distinctive touches include skirted black amp knobs, a slinky 24” scale, Adjusto-Matic™ bridge with stop tailpiece and a lean control layout featuring a tonally convenient single three-way toggle switch. Other features include an alder body, maple neck with 9.5”-radius rosewood fretboard, 22 medium jumbo frets, gloss polyester finish and chrome hardware.

In-Depth: When Stratocaster players want to exchange the guitar’s classic sparkling clean tone for full-throated thickness and high-gain roar, their favorite way to do it is to mod their beloved Strat® guitars with humbucking pickups. That’s the idea behind Fender’s new Blacktop Stratocaster HH guitar. Streamlined and amped up, it delivers heavy high-gain tone from its dual over-wound alnico humbucking pickups. Other features include skirted black amp knobs, synchronized tremolo bridge, alder body, maple neck with 9.5”-radius rosewood or maple fretboard, 22 medium jumbo frets, gloss polyester finish and chrome hardware.

It features dual over-wound alnico humbucking pickups that deliver hot high-gain sound. Distinctive touches include skirted black amp knobs, a reversed chrome control plate and a hard-tail bridge. In-Depth: The Jazzmaster found renewed popularity from the mid-1970s onward among new generations of sonically adventurous and highly creative guitarists. One of their favorite modifications was to complement the round tone of the single-coil neck pickup by adding a humbucking pickup in the bridge position for powerful and heavy tone. Fender’s new Blacktop Jazzmaster HS guitar gives you exactly that and more. Sleek and supercharged, it has a Duncan Designed™ single-coil Jazzmaster neck pickup and a high-gain humbucking bridge pickup, with other distinctive touches including skirted black amp knobs, a Jazzmaster tremolo tailpiece and a lean control layout featuring a tonally convenient single three-way toggle switch. Other features include an alder body, maple neck with 9.5”-radius rosewood fretboard, 21 medium jumbo frets, gloss polyester finish and chrome hardware.
