Christian Bährens studied music and English in his hometown of Berlin. Shortly after his exams, he founded the Wilmersdorf Chamber Choir in 1984, and a few years later, the vocal ensemble Cantico Nuovo. In 1991, he added the choir of the Beethoven High School, where he works as a music teacher, and in 2003, the St. Matthew’s Cantorei Steglitz.
Christian Bährens is conductor of several choirs, composer and music teacher in his hometown Berlin. In 2011 he was promoted Dr of Music by Bydgoszcz University in Poland and started composing seven years ago.
Several of his choral pieces were premiered by the Norwegian female choirs CANTUS, CONCENTUS and EMBLA, the international renowned Latvian female choir BALTA, the SOPHIA CHAMBER CHOIR KIEV and his own choirs.
