Here, planet Moon associates to me and my zodiac aďŹƒnity (Cancer). The painting is divided into two sections, left showing the phase changing of the moon like my moods and the right is the surface of the moon resembling my multi-faceted personality. The lunar attractions are presented by the division of lines. This was completed as a part of high school requirement in (IB) Visual Arts.

Emotional Expressionism - Photo shoot Shutter speed - 1/40, Aperture - 5.6 and ISO - 3200 (Canon 700D) I have captured the movements of an Indian classical dance “Kathak”. This classical dance form derives its origin from the rich ancient culture of India. Specific dance “mudras” express various emotions through facial gestures and body language, portraying deep meaning as well as adding grace to this form of art. These photographs were taken as a part of hobby.

Exhibit Mankind Medium: acrylic, oil pastels and texture white on canvas Size: 2 x 5 ft. Completed: July, 2016. I have expressed society in the form of tones, tonal dierences show the dierent personas and cultures that are bound together on one plain surface. Broken colour and contrasting tones are filled between the gaps showing communication among people. Geometric divisions are made with little gaps, leaving space for congestion. This was made to exhibit in the Art Fest in high school.

Fruit Full Medium: Photo inks on cartridge paper Size:27.5 x 19.5 inch. Completed: December, 2016.

A common saying “ Doing good will be fruitful,is reflected in the painting below. The Pipe shows a path of life through which if this fruit falls, the two possible results would be either a ripe fruit or a rotten fruit. The back ground with dull bricks and bright lego blocks show confusion, morality wise, in the world around us. Green tones added to the pipe, make it look worn out, just like human ageingThis was completed as a part of my interest.

Underpass

Medium: soft pastel and charcoal on cartridge sheet Size: 15 x 25 inch. Completed: November, 2016

Memory Illustration Medium: Acrylic on canvas Size: 2 x 2 ft. Completed: September, 2016 The memory appears to me as a space with geometric landscape composition where the texture creates thickness and the perspective creates depth. The landscape uses thick strokes to show the beauty in the back of our mind. While in the foreground thin patterned lines symbolise the delicate connection between the subtle feelings.

Composition - Photo shoot Shutter speed - 1/125, Aperture - 7.1 and ISO - 100-700 (Canon 700D) I visited Dharavi, the largest slum in India and Asia, for this photoshoot. The ability to identify and capture aesthetically appealing shots was developed during this photoshoot. Contrasting colour schemes and textures were captured. Various pattern were clicked, which is one of the key elements for designing. Completed as a part of hobby.

Modelling Medium: ceramic and poster paints on wooden board. Size: 7 x 7 x 26 inch. Completed: October, 2016

This piece is made in order to experience working with dierent mediums. Ceramic is a challenging medium to work with and hence I chose to explore the same. Delicate organic forms were used to beautify the appearance of the wooden board. The paints provided an antique look.

Hybrid Flip-Flop Medium: Scrap metal, acrylic and varnish on wooden board. Size: 24 x 17 x 6 inch. Completed: January, 2016. Mumbai, India.

A hybrid of different species from animal kingdom is brought here. Serrated teeth are akin to reptiles and fins to deep sea fishes. Composition and imagination together is expressed in this sculpture. I made this for an “Art fest “ in school premises, which was also a part of my IBDP Visual Arts curriculum.

Anatomy 3D

Medium: Paper, ropes, saw dust, scrap metal. Size: 67 x 46 x 76 cm. Completed: November, 2016.

A woman under societal pressure and gender inequality is expressed and portrayed. Indian society being one of such places, helped me view the degradation of women as sex objects and no exploration of their deep inner selves. I made this as a part of (IB) Visual Arts.

Organic materials Study Flowers and leaves Organic study is done by me to feel the delicacy of nature and organic shapes. The vibrant colours schemes are a part of nature. Natural forms are best defined with the use of free flow of water paints.

Medium: water paint on cartridge paper Size: A4 size sheets Completed: June, 2016.

Self Tie #1 The vibrant colour scheme used for the figure in the canvas, symbolises my morality, while the background is kept bland. This depicts self centred nature, which ignores surroundings.

Medium: Acrylic and texture white on canvas Size: 3 x 5 ft. Completed: September, 2016.

Action then Reaction Medium: Clay, metal wire, wood, saw dust, varnish. Size: 8 x 30 x 61 cm. Completed: December, 2016.

A series of small clay models are made to demonstrate multiple actions or thoughts. One’s action speaks for what the mind thinks. A model of the brain with its texture is made in the centre controlling reactions. The wires connect each action to the reaction through process of the brain. The figures show small act of what a brain processes. This was made as a project of (IB) Visual Arts.

Remnants Of A Lost Civilisation Seen Through The Mist Of Time Medium: Clay, Metal, Feathers, Glass and Varnish. Size: 1 x 1 x 1 ft. Completed: March, 2016.

In this sculpture, I have thought about a Neadrathal -like humanoid in a dance pose with wings to signify that this figure is perhaps god-like or angelic. The figure is made crudely so as to show the erosion over time, and the glass pane is to signify the shroud of mystery that surrounds this ancient civilisation. Made as a part of (IB) Visual Art.

Retro Medium: charcoal, soft pastel and ink. on cartridge sheet Size: 15 x 25 inch. Completed: November, 2016
