PROBLEM FINDING

ARCHITECTURE

Being the Capital of India, Delhi has the busiest environment, involves 40-80 hours a week of stressful work, unhealthy conditions, poor eating habits and health problems due to their lifestyle. The Commercial activities occupy the day at its best that people are already out of selftime.

Both meditation & yoga have a huge impact on the 21stcentury humans as we are constantly in competitive and workaholic environments, our sedentary lifestyles, junk food eating habits & our constant engagement with digital screens (mobiles, laptops, etc.) can have an overwhelming effect on us both mentally & physically.

PROBLEM SOLUTION We as human beings have an inner connection with our environment through physical, mental, spiritual and emotional means.

PEOPLE REALIZE THE BENEFITS OF YOGA AND MEDITATION

PEOPLE

YOGA AND MEDITATION

There is a need for a space where one can got relieve stress and help heal the mind and body. Thus forming a terminus of relaxation, meditation and health.

The communal spaces between the built spaces will act as social gathering spaces so that people rejuvenate the lost interaction nature.

YOGA AND MEDITATION CENTRE

RELATION BETWEEN HEALTH AND PEOPLE

Major of such existing facilities do not serve the combination of physical and psychological healing under the same roof. By exploring the meaning of Spiritual Rejuvenation in a non- religious context and thinking of Architecture as a medium for healing, the Centre would become an escape from the stressful environment that surrounds us and a place to gain a new perspective on the daily problems of life.

BODY

SPIRIT

MIND

EMOTION

The therapies and the courses are the prime factored of heating in such facilities, whereas will be aiming to design architecture for healing and the environment making the deeper impact. Architecture fosters various levels of controlled interaction between people and space. Through the provision of seating spaces at the transition zones between different blocks, it will create social gathering spaces.

Triangulation in Architecture means multiple approaches and reasons to connect spaces through the third one.

MULTISENSORY ARCHITECTURE

LIFE

SPACE

SOUND – Birds Chirping, Sound of Water Flow, Artificial sound: acoustic, Buddhist prayer wheel drums. Music and Dance. SMELL – Fruit bearing Trees, Fragrance plants, Aroma Natural Therapies: Interior Spaces. VISIUALS – View of backside dense trees, view of landscaping, Story play in Auditorium, Scale and proportion of built mass and open spaces. Light and shadow: Sun.

The spaces would lead to social interaction and make people to share their thoughts and thus promote the emotional well-being among them and make the spaces, Emotional healing spaces.

FEEL – Architecture Touch. Centre of nucleus: common interest activities, maintain interest according to age groups. Interior spaces: Spa, massage rooms, Natural therapies.

Humans and their environment interact with one another through senses. With the use of calm colours, acoustic sound, odour of right plant and visuals of landscaping, the users will connect to the space with different experiences and makes them memorable.
