Aryana Misaghi is a first year medical student. Before medical school, she worked as a musician and arts administrator, teaching flute at Marshall University and managing the West Virginia Youth Symphony. This selection, Le merle noir by Olivier Messiaen, comes from her last solo recital. It features the organic sounds of the blackbird and the quiet musings of its onlooker.
