“Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature. It will never fail you.”
-Frank Lloyd Wright
Architecture changed my perspective of looking at people, cultures and nature. My world of architecture revolves around these three aspects. My philosophy is simple – “enrich any space with a unique experience”. My designs interact more with human scale and connection with nature. I aspire to work in variety of areas within architecture. I always love to learn new things.

HOTEL OF CROSSED DESTINIES The Hotel “Luxature = Luxury Hotel + Nature (Botanical gardens)” is a perfect balance between the nature and the grandeur, which amalgamates with beautiful heritage structures around the site. The aim of the hotel is to oblige to the needs of the guests coming to the hotel for a pleasant stay. In addition to that, the visitors can recreate themselves by being around the heritage buildings surrounded by beauty of Botanical Gardens. The site consists of Private and public space such as Luxury Hotel and Arboretum respectively. The main entrance of the hotel is from the Western side where as the hotel can be accessed from the south from North Terrace and north side from Arboretum. A public ramp adjacent to the hotel runs from the north terrace, serves as the passage to the Arboretum and gives the flock a mesmerising experience of the heritage beauty - Women’s Health Centre, McEwin building, Bice Building and Allied Health Building. The pedestrian walkway on the eastern side of the hotel opens to the Botanical Gardens so that the visitors can indulge themselves with the nature. Moreover, it also acts as a Service Entry for the basement level. The hotel consists of 9 floors and 2 basements, wherein, the 7th floor “Sky court” breaks the continuity of the building by providing the double height recreation area. The concept the building mass is enfolded with two layers of superimposed skin. The concept behind the pattern repeated in the skin panels is derived from the leaves and gives an overall idea of luxury fused with nature. Also, the arboretum flows into the site to the botanical garden, surrounded by different types of Eucalyptus trees. As the concept was to have a clear view through the arboretum to the botanical garden, the arboretum is just covered by wooden fins from all the sides. The arboretum is design in three levels explaining the information about the Eucalyptus trees and its species. Eucalyptus trees being tall, the walkway area on the third level feels like a canopy walk through the trees and gives a pleasant experience to the visitors.

Blend_In Kent Town is located in the suburban area of Adelaide and is one of the closest to the city centre. On doing some research, I realised that Kent Town didn’t have a substantial market to meet it’s needs, which led me to choose the market brief for the design project. The fact that the residents needed to go a long way for their everyday needs, reinforced my decision. Kent Town constitutes quite a handful of industrial plots that are either unused or derelict due the lack of maintenance. According to the Adelaide development plan, a multitude of residential buildings will crop up around the area by utilising converting these industrial plots and putting them to more efficient use. The selected site is one were the Bunnings warehouse is currently operating. Located at the centre of the town, it has the added value of being in close proximity to the proposed bus/tram stops. The site is bound on adjacent sides by College road and Rundle street. The site is aligned in such a way that the longer side is parallel to Rundle street, one of the busiest roads in Adelaide. The idea is that the street corner could be used as the primary point of public engagement. This space can be filled with green pockets and provide spaces for social interaction. The whole fabric of Kent Town’s built spaces being vertically low except on the periphery, it seems reasonable to break that monotony and the linearity of the site by making a play of open spaces and building blocks. The supermarket on the ground floor will be easily accessible by the customers. Cafe’s on the front will help in bringing in more people and in encouraging more activity on the street front. The original thought was to maintain well treated aisles between shops and create public spaces between aisles to bring in a variety of activities and keep it interesting. The aisles will also have the additional responsibility of directing people to the main event area and the traders market by way of design. The smaller shops aim to bring local vendors and native businesses to the forefront and give them opportunities for better livelihoods. The roof has been designed to retain the existing character of it’s immediate surroundings.
The site is surrounded by Two main streets Rundle street and college road’. The idea is to use the prime corner for the public community engagement and to act as an attractive point to the people towards the market.
The site is aligned across one of the busiest roads in the town, Rundle street. As the next stage the idea is to locate the footprint area for the building within the site. The corner plot is treated with green spaces engaging community interaction.
The whole fabric of the kent town is vertically low except at some places at the circumference of the kent town boundary. So the idea is to rise a medium rise building which can also attract people from the city towards the site.
The site is oriented in a linear way along the rundle street. My thought is to break the linearity and engage more interactive spaces withing bulding blocks.

VENDOR AND THE FLORIST [A MINI URBAN FARM]
This Inside_out project aims to create a residence for a vendor’s family. The family has husband and wife. The major expectations from the client is that the building should have a raw, natural and strong features. Client and his wife both are admirera’s of nature. To enhance the expectations this project aimed for a spacious residence for them. Husband is a vendor who gets vegetables in wholesale and selling it in the proposed KaTi market. This project intended to be an head start for the surrounding to developed in such a way to enhance the overall quality of kent town. Thus focusing on mainly on urban scale. This proposal is to be named as ‘Mini Urban Farm’, this is not a prototype but an idea which can be implemented in a wide way. his wife is florist. So the minimum amount of the site is used for residential purposes rest for flower farming in a micro scale. This project is expectedd to be spacious as there will be friends, family and work people movement will be more. client wanted this residence to be felt secluded even when being very close to the heart of the city. As a stage the concepts were coming up and driven up the design to this stage. Since both of them are nature lovers one of the main key idea is bringing nature inti the building which lead to the concept of biomicry. since kent town has lots of resedential development plans so this projects seeks to attract people to follow this way. This might seem to be very small(micro) by means of it scale but if spread wide it might also contribute to making Adelaide a green city. This project not only aims to the resendence look great but also making this city look good and function well in the coming days.

An Urban Rhythm
Kent town being one of the closest sub urban to city centre it has lot of potential for developments and which has been included in the future plan Adelaide After analysing the Kent town it is understood that Kent town doesn’t have a prominent market which made me choose the Kati market brief for my free space proposal. From the beginning of this project it has been thought as an urban insert for Kent town and activating key spaces of Kent town which will have an impact on a bigger scale. Making it more permeable with the streets on both sides. Opening it to a lane way and with proper street scaping of the laneway will active the laneway in a micro level. The market has a central event space which also will act as traders market for two days a week and rest of the time it is an open air seating space. The Kati market being located on the centre of the Kent town the market will be needing better transportation facilities. The proposed tram line not only benefits not only the major projects but also the overall circulation within Kent town. It is clearly that the southern part of Kent town is mostly residential. This tram line will make it comfortable for the residents of Kent town to shuttle between the market and other major projects. The idea for urban intervention is basically and extension of ideas with the market. Following the axis of market to the tower plaza. The plaza is located at central common space between Kati market and Kelly’s Aesop headquarters. The relaxation floor on the northern side of the plaza is a space to display the art interventions of the people of Kent town. The southern part is designed as café kiosks which can folded, moved and dismantled which provides an opportunity to adjust the plaza to other events. The central lawn will also acts as a seating space when screening. The tower designed to become an icon for Kent town which has glass cube at the top which will reflect the sunlight in different colours during the day. And at night it will be illuminated according to the local events. The tower hosts a church bell which will remind people of time and at event times it calls for people. For example, Imagine Kent town in way that when streets at lit and active with parties and events on the streets and the church bell rings at 12‘o clock. The addition of vertical grids to Kent town is another major move for Kent town. It is clearly seen the streets are narrow and hard circulate over blocks. So the intent is to break the linearity by introducing the grids. Some of these grids will act as one way roads and others acts a green pockets. This move will have a great impact on the laneways. The ideas for streets are to add pinch points to the streets and treat it different with every street. The formation of grids are intended to develop blocks within the particular zone. Each will have its own character and function according to the nearest Major project. In this case the inside out project is a residence for a vendor’s family with micro scale farming facilities in order to improve the green spaces. One of the main ideas for the inside out project is to make it boost start to something will be continued in the future as a community. So apparently it will become like a market community around the market. It is expected to go in a similar way with other projects. The future of Kent this intervention looking at is making it one of the most vibrant sub urban space in Adelaide.
An Urban Rhythm
K - Town Development guidelines After analysing Kent Town, as a group of two myself and Rick came up with these five principle/Guidelines to proceed with our individual urban interrventions. The main idea of our team is to make Kent Town more active. All the analysis made our team to think more about streets, transport and density. This lead us to derive these five principles. All these principles were derived with consideration of streets, for example, the principle ‘Security’ means maintaing security to the people of Kent Town anywhere anytime.
1. Blurring
2. Attractor
Improving transition between one block to other.
Centre of attraction. Attracting people towards the suburb.
3. Security
4. Variety
5. Density
Improving safety for everyone. Inside and outside the buildings(streets).
Increasing the number and variety of activities in the suburb.
Incresing density of people and buildings.

GREEHOUSE - SOLAR DECATHALON Greenhouse is a competition brief by solar decathlon which encourages architects to design highly energy efficient buildings. The program requires a small-scale residential design of 90 sq.m. with zero carbon footprint. The design was approached to achieve zero energy encouraging passive design strategies to solve the energy requirements. The program was to design a portable building which can be easily assembled on-site. It is for a couple who likes to explore places. The idea was to make house thermally comfortable. The concept of the spatial programme was to make the spaces flexible according to the usage and time. The outdoor deck in the entrance can be included to the living and the kitchen when there is a social gathering and on the other time it can act as porch, drawing area and for some barbeques. The pergolas above the outdoor decks is intended for grape vines, which will acts as a dynamic shading i.e. it will be dense during the summer providing shade and in winter the vines plants will wither and let the winter sun into the building. After looking at the precedents, it is understood that ventilation and efficient use of natural resources will boost up the odds to achieve the goal. The additional electricity needs were fulfilled by harvesting solar energy. Considering the climatic effects, it is critical to solve heating and cooling within the house. This design adopted the idea of ‘Beehive 2.0’ by Studio Ant for passive cooling during the summer. This beehive unit not only serves the cooling and also aesthetically pleasing and makes the facade dynamic. It can be moved along the rails in the fron so it basically acts like a natural air cooler. the water will poured on top of the clay tubes installed will cool the air by evaporative cooling. For the heating, modern fireplaces were included. These beehive units can be moved towards the east against the wall allowing the winter sun into the building. This house has been designed in a such way to adopt to the climatic conditions and serve as a comfortable home for the couple to pursue their passion.

Beyond_the_Visual_Speculation A_Medley_of_Spaces The main idea of this speculation is to understand the spatial relation between spaces. Using the inpretations of Spaces from the book “Architecture form, space, and order” by Francis D.K. Ching the investigation of spaces from the KaTi market initiated. Benjamin furrns, Pontificial Academy of sciences inspired me with a new vision of drawing which led me to exploration. This speculation process intially stated with simple layering plans of certain areas. It was then layered with sections of that particular spaces. on the process, the experimentation needed to be taken to the next stage so the plans and sections of different spaces palimpsested. This exploration always seeked answers for “what if” question. When the exploration was going on single space with multiple sections now it has been moved further to combine more and more and grew into a comples collage. During this speculative process, It was clear from the beginning to stick to the elements otherwise this is an endless process. Intially, the elements were first selected from ching’s book and drawing style from Furn’s drawing. After the elements were selected the speculation started exploring new ideas and concepts without any firm believe in the output. But as a suprise each and every day during this process some new insights and ideas towards a space is gained. It provided a great understanding of the spaces. This speculation has variety of information in an abstract form. In this speculative process many drawing techniques were used, to name a few layering, scaling, collage, etcetra. This speculation deals with the variety of spaces for a single tone thus “A medley of Spaces”
Elements : Openings Within a plane
Elements : Elevated base plane
Elements : Linking spaces
Street_Knights The exploration startes with the initial analysis of shuffling the positions of street elements within a laneway. The initial idea is to move these element with grids the chess board idea was incorporated to contain these elements in a contained space. The knights here in this chess board are the pawns of this game. This game is all about pawns who are the knights in this whole game. In this game the pawns are differentiated and disguised as abstract forms of street elements. The back row is disguised as the building blocks. The moves and combinations are not restricted to anything. This game has been split into three layer to gain insight on overlapping elements like Pedestrian pathyway and seating, etc. There are some synergies acceptable within elements like if a seating pawn moved along with or next to tree pawn. In this game there is no winning, it’s all about how you make your move and your selection of pawns to shuffle within. The two central grids are left empty to study the pedestrian and vehicular movement.
Lets Play..!

The grids are divided into four zones, sensitive, retreat, elements, and building zone. Sensitive zone could be considered as roadway. Retreat zones are only for the building pawns to recess and give space for elements if needed. Element zones are as the name indicates for the street elements. Building zones are to indicate the existing positions of the buildings in the street. The maquette is divided into three layer to gain an insight of relation between the overlapping elements like pedestrian and art installation. Unlike normal chess it’s a one player game.In here the selection of the pawns are critical and as as the moves made by them. The pawns are disparate and powerful here whereas the back which usually the powerful are calm with resticted moves. There is no threat of capturing in here. It’s not about who wins, It’s about how you win.!
