Ada dua jenis rumah adat di Suku Asmat yang terletak di Papua. Yang pertama dikenal dengan nama “rumah Jew”, adalah sebuah rumah didedikasikan untuk pelaksanaan semua kegiatan yang merupakan tradisi seperti rapat adat dan ritual ceremonial. Ada satu lagi rumah adat Suku Asmat yaitu “Tysem”. Rumah ini bisa juga disebut sebagai rumah keluarga, karena yang menghuni adalah mereka yang telah berkeluarga. Biasanya, ada 2 sampai 3 pasang keluarga yang mendiami Tysem.

Asmat has become an “attraction” for strangers for its woodcarving which responded by Madam Tien Soeharto as the founder of the museum. Located at Taman Bunga Keong Emas region with a building area of 6500 m² , the building houses museum modeled as kariwari model, namely the house of worship Enggros Tobati tribe, the natives on the shores of Lake Sentani, Papua. but instead of traditionally, the museum was made Modernly.
Ibu Tien Soeharto dengan meprakarsai mendirikan Museum Asmat. Berada di atas lahan taman Bunga Keong Emas dengan luas bangunan 6.500 m², Gedung museum mencontoh model rumah kariwari, yakni rumah pemujaan suku Tobati-Enggros, penduduk asli di tepi Danau Sentani, Papua.

Senjata Asmat dibuat dari kayu keras. Ujungnya yang tajam (mata tombak) dilengkapi dengan penutup yang dibuat dari paruh burung atau kuku burung kasuari serta diberi hiasan berbentuk kait.

Tombak ini digunakan untuk berburu. Di ujung tombak terdapat mata tombak yang terbuat dari paruh burung kasuari dan dihias dengan kait.
Tombak ini digunakan untuk perang antar suku di Asmat. Setiap ujung tomak terbuat dari kuku burung kasuari dan dihiasi dengan bulu burung dan biji-bijian.

Buku ini akan menceritakan mengenai kelompok etnis di New Guinea, yang bertempat tinggal di Provinsi Papua Indonesia. Kelompok etnis yang masih memiliki tradisi kaya dan terbaik sampai peradaban sekarang ini, juga terkenal dengan memiliki woodcaring semarak, kelompok etnis yang bertahan adalah tidak lain dari Asmat.

PROLOGUE It‘s been the culture from birth of Asmat that people are heavily relying on the rich natural resource found in their seas, rivers, and forest with the lands in total of approximately 19,000 km2 (7,336 mi2). Asmat people basically stay exist on the basis of the other food gathered in water and forest as well.
