The Beginning We, Louis Lambri and Lee Richards started our careers in 1986 and 1989 respectively at the Sir John Cass Polytechnic. We both met at “Eton Jewellery where we designed and created pieces of jewellery for some of the finest and most respected stores around the world. We had a burning ambition to open our own store, where we could offer our creative skills direct to the public, giving a personal and desired service at a much lower price. This started in 1994.

Before you buy your diamond We recommend you learn as much as you can because two diamonds, even at identical grade, are not the same and can therefore differ in price by as much as 40%, all the 4c’s are very important. Eternal only purchase 1 out of approximately 8-10 stones shown to us to insure quality and value. Even though on certificates, a diamond can sound perfect, we compare against many to buy the best.

The quality of the diamond is important, however there are many other things that we consider at Eternal to be of equal importance when making your bespoke jewellery. Our unrivalled attention to detail, balance and accuracy is guaranteed with the workmanship that makes Eternal jewellery stand out.

The personal touch At Eternal your piece of jewellery will be designed. The diamonds personally selected for perfection and hand crafted on the premises. Your jewellery will be crafted by the person that serves you, ensuring that none of the attention to detail will be lost by passing it on to a third party.

An option available to all our customers at Eternal is that if you have changed your design or specification once we have completed it, for no other reason than just a change of heart, we will put that piece of jewellery into stock and start again without quibble and at no extra cost. This must be stated at time of collection.

Certification Diamonds above half a carat are ideally purchased with an independent certificate to give peace of mind on the 4c’s. It also guarantees against the diamond being man made or laser drilled and then filled.

Our customers leave our shop satisfied and happy, having seen their designs come to life. This is one of the greatest rewards of owning our own store.

Carat weight The weight of a diamond is measured in carats. One carat is divided into 100 points so that half a carat equals 50 points. The carat weight is not the size of the diamond. A word of caution, not all diamonds are cut to the correct proportions, many are cut too deep or too shallow, maximising weight, i.e. it might weigh 1ct, but has the size of a 0.85ct with less fire and brilliance.

Cut The precision and skill of the craftsman during the cutting process will determine a diamond’s sparkle. A well-proportioned diamond will reflect and refract light from one facet to another and then disperse it through the crown in a shower of brilliance and fire. Clarity Even very high quality diamonds usually contain natural inclusions, these were formed millions of years ago at the same time the diamond was created. Although their presence helps to identify that it is a genuine diamond, compared to a man made simulant. Inclusions can also impede the passage of light through a diamond, thereby reducing its brilliance.

Colour The colour is graded and measured on an alphabetical scale with the whitest starting at “D. D, E and F are colourless, G, H and I are near colourless. J, K, L and M are faint yellow or brown. Another characteristic of a diamond is ultra violet fluorescence. Diamonds with strong fluorescence should be avoided as it can make the stone cloudy which dulls the sparkle.

Recommendation As with most things in life, you can only find out how good a store is and how good the service, after the purchase. Recommendation is our only form of advertising. Recommendation has been the key to our success.

Guaranteeing Quality In Britain, hallmarking has a long history, dating back 700 years and representing the earliest form of consumer protection. A hallmark means that the article has been independently tested by an Assay Office and guarantees that it conforms to a specified legal standard of purity.

We will purchase back any piece of jewellery you have from us, for exactly the same amount you paid, if you want to upgrade it by the same amount. It must be in good condition and with all certifications it came with originally. This excludes prices below ÂŁ1,000.

Eternal’s policy on conflict diamonds Eternal diamonds have always been purchased from legitimate sources not involved in funding conflict and in compliance with United Nations Resolutions. We hereby guarantee that all Eternal diamonds are conflict free, based on our personal knowledge and with written guarantees provided by all our suppliers.

We recommend you do not wear your diamond when you are playing sports, going to the gym or rough work such as gardening. Even though a diamond is durable and the hardest natural substance known to man, it can still be chipped or broken by a hard blow. The settings can also be loosened, resulting in stones being lost.

Unrivalled after sales service As often as you like pop in your jewellery purchased from us to have an ultrasonic clean and the settings checked, free of charge. Once a year we will repolish it to remove fine scratches at no charge. Every few years we will update valuations free of charge if the original one is brought in. For the first 2 months, if your fingers change in size, which is common, we will resize your ring at no charge.
